On the topic of bacon, I just got an ad in the mail today about Pizza Hut's Bacon Mac 'n Cheese pasta.

Now if that isn't a coronary inducing platter of heaven I don't know what is.

:D

Imagine if it came from someplace other than Pizza Hut, then it would be really good.

I just use a skillet. And I love bacon sandwiches - that's a slice of bacon placed between two slices of bacon. :p

BTW, I nominate this best thread of the day. I know it's just imagination but reading this thread I can practically smell the bacon aroma emanating from it.

That's not enough bacon. Have you considered placing 5 slices of bacon between the two slices of bacon?

Oh sweet bacon-wrapped baby Jesus!

oh, I love pancetta. I use it in just about everything. there's an italian deli nearby that has pancetta made especially for them. it's about 10x better than the typicla Boar's head pancetta.

hmmmm.....

When I went up north to see my gf, her parents use the oven bake method. Never saw that before in my life. Was more limpy but had a different rather pleasant flavor.

My gf had never cooked bacon before but once I showed her how she wound up cooking it better than me or her grandmother did (skillet method). Now I just let her cook the bacon :p

As woman's place is in the kitchen!

Cooking method depends on what I'm using the bacon for. If just cooking up bacon for a BLT I'll use the microwave because that's the fastest and easiest. If cooking bacon and eggs I'll use the skillet for the bacon. Since it'll be used for the eggs anyway it won't dirty another pan and then I can cook the eggs in the bacon grease.

Have any of you had chocolate covered bacon? I hear it is really good.

I like to make BLT's with a half pound of bacon on each sandwich and a good quality toasted bread. I use a skillet when making eggs so i can cook the eggs in the bacon grease. For sandwiches, the microwave does a fine job and if you cook it long enough the bacon is really crisp and tasty.
