I agree, and this is also why I've migrated to the microwave. It's so quick, and the value/prep time quotient tips it for me.

Cooking bacon in the microwave is like barbecuing with propane for me. It's just not right. IMO it takes away from the whole cooking-bacon-for-breakfast experience.

We all know that vegetarians secretly eat bacon.

wait a second...what do you mean by "barbecuing?" are you talking about cooking hotdogs on a grill, or actual BBQ? because we're going to have to have a pissing match if it's the former. :p

I like my bacon "Turkey" style. Which is a term I made up for Turkey Bacon. I like it cooked in a skillet fed to me by slaves.

It's funny... You can go into a vegitarian place and find bacon flavored tofu but for the life of me I can't find Tofu flavored bacon at the butcher shop.

Wonder why that is...

no shit. they even have "vegetarian bacon." It even looks like bacon. IMO, bacon is the number one issue that vegetarians should have with meat, and I don't disagree with them. However, to even eat anything resembling bacon as a vegetarian is hypocritical.

the fact that vegetarian bacon exists makes me skeptical towards vegetarianism. Vegetarians eating veggie bacon is an open admission that they are denying themselves natural human needs.

Grim Reaper knocks on door.
Homer: Go away!
Grim Reaper: I've got bacon...
Homer: Is it crispy?
Grim Reaper: Yeeess
Homer: But not too crispy?
Grim Reaper: Nooooo

Actual BBQ of course. I'm somewhat of a serious BBQ snob.

Bacon-flavored tofu. WTF

We had Thanksgiving at my sister's 2 years ago, she and her husband are vegetarians, and they pulled out the tofurkey. I was like WTF. The ingredients panel was so stuffed full of chemicals as to make hotdogs look healthy. Thankfully, they were thoughtful enough to have cooked a real turkey as well.

Strangely enough, I find turkey bacon to have a beef jerky-like flavor (probably the liquid smoke) so I eat it sometimes.
The kids don't like it so much when I refer to them as slaves, though.

Cooking method depends on what I'm using the bacon for. If just cooking up bacon for a BLT I'll use the microwave because that's the fastest and easiest. If cooking bacon and eggs I'll use the skillet for the bacon. Since it'll be used for the eggs anyway it won't dirty another pan and then I can cook the eggs in the bacon grease.

I have a new method I call "grill bacon" - fire up my propane grill, throw some slices on and enjoy :-D
