I like both... bacon with eggs & sausage with pancakes or waffles.

yeah.. me too.. sometimes bacon (if it's cooked all the way), sometimes sausage.. depends what is going with it.

anno

breakfast sausage = more meat, tender and juicy. bacon is hard and dry, not to mention too salty =)

I love bacon, but I probably love quality breakfast sausage a little more...unless it is thck sliced back bacon...arghhh, I just don't know anymore!

I love sausage, hate bacon... I can feel my heart clogging up when I eat bacon (although I'm sure sausage is just as bad)

Salmon, the Other Pink Meat

Yep, it's just wrong to make the other animals feel left out.

Bacon's almost all fat. There's really great bacon but most isn't. Got spoiled when my dad started ordering Amana. Much better than any other I'd ever had, leaner too.

Sausage can be a lot leaner, and again, the quality is extremely variable. You can make your own sausage, and I have.

When I buy bacon, I get the ends and pieces if I can and usually trim out as much fat as practical. I render the trimmed off fat and save for shortening. I season things with the bacon, but only rarely eat bacon as a side dish by itself (e.g. BLT or with eggs).

For me, bacon is a very sometime thing, but I eat a bit of sausage virtually every day (for the seasoning effect in dishes). My current favorite is Saag's Chorizo, a pork-based sausage.

word on the good bacon.

If you guys haven't tried REALLY good bacon you should treat yourself.

plus you always save the grease for cooking, just put it in a jar.

I used to only really like sausage but after eating at the same restaurant for breakfast almost all summer long i couldnt handle it and switched to bacon and havent looked back. Seems like it has less grease and fat since you can cook a lot of it off compared to the sausage. plus it seems less salty like the stuff i was getting at that restaurant.

Oh well, makes me want to make some food
