Are you people saying the DVD contents are the same? Because the packaging definitely isn't the same...

I saw part 1 last week and part 2 last night. I noticed the self-adjusting sleeves not being shown because it was pointed out to me beforehand, but everything else seemed fine. If nobody told me, I wouldn't have noticed anything wrong at all.

The Canadian release should be the same as the US. Only the outside packaging is different. I mean, Region 1 is North America. Why bother making different versions?

Did anyone notice thatat the end of part1 it does not say "To Be Continued" at the end?

It did say this before didnt it?

So you're saying that you remember it saying "to be continued" at the end when you watched it in the theatre?

I believe it was added to the home video releases, and was NOT part of the theatrical release.

I thought it was in the theater (even home) version as a joke... what's up with this?

I think if it was in the theatrical release, it should have been left in. I dont want content removed from the movie. I know that is picky but to me it takes away from the movie to me.

3 things:

1) it does say to be concluded and the end at the end of 2 and 3 so it should indeed say it at the end of 1. Another Flaw.

2) Has anyone received their replacement Discs???

3) where did you get the info on where to mail them to????

I thought, in theaters, 1&2 said "to be continued" while 3 said something different (like, "The end"). But it was a long time ago... 😱

"To be continued..." was not featured in the original theatrical presentation of the first movie. It was added after Universal agreed to make two more movies. The second movie included "To be continued..." at the end, because the third was confirmed already--and was filmed at the same time as #2.

The Canadian content is the same as the US content, except possibly for language tracks. The Canadian version may include a French track instead of Spanish. The covers are different, as Canada requires DVD covers to be bilingual.

The "To Be Continued" issue is discussed in the director's commentary. It was NOT in the theatrical version in Part I, but was added to the home version. At the time of filming Part I, a second film was not even planned. The "To Be Continued" was removed for this release, to be more true to the release.

Mine shipped today! 😀

mine too... 🙂

I ordered some lotr posters for my brother for christmas from a dude in canada. He sent canada post, shipped 12/18/02, i didnt receive till like 01/8/02 so it took around 3 weeks turn around. I even had a tracking # but it was NEVER updated. I received it and it still said it was in the original drop off point. Its SLOW passing the border and getting to me. But he packaged it very nicely cuz they were in perfect condition for the 3 weeks in transit!

hope the vendors there put it in nicely for the delay so your products dont get F**'d with

Sent my discs 2 & 3 out last month, just after I received them. Still waiting, have heard nothing. Here's an except of what they said when I complained:

"Universal Studios will exchange Back to the Future parts 2 and 3 for copies with the updated framing in late
February 2003. You may send the DVDs back now or wait until February.

Please send Back to the Future disks 2 and 3, without the case...."

I did not want to forget so I sent them off right away. But you can see that they specified "late February 2003", so I don't expect to see the replacements until at least March.

I was wondering this too
I just picked this up on Tuesday for my fiance's b-day and I don't want her to send the discs in for replacement until someone confirms they have received replacement discs
please post if you do

Zac - I'd say send off for the prepaid envelopes now. At least you'll have them when they start sending out the updated versions and be able to get yours quicker. As fo today - no one has reported receiving their updated versions.

Where do we get pre-paid enevleopes?
The only post I saw regarding replacing these gave an address to send the DVDs to.

The number to call is: (888) 703-0010.

Beware, the rep I talked to today was VERY loud. VERY. 🙂

I received a form letter today:

"Dear Valued Customer, We have received your BTTF Widescreen DVD product. Please be advised..replacement will be available and shipped in March 2003. Thank you, blah blah"

Considering that today is the 19th, there's not much of March left. Sorta like Microsoft's release dates, I guess.

I just bought these DVDs about a week or so ago. Is there any way to tell if I've got the original bad versions or the newer corrected version?
