Loved it when they passed events that happened in previous episodes (and one of the movies) like the tentacle Professor and Leela flying throught the windshield and onto the table. Futurama is always good at self-reference.
I guess we're going to have to take her around again
lol
I couldn't stop laughing at that part and the very end where we see Bender burying the bodies under the bridge where Fry and Leia are having a nice moment together. I thought it was the best episode of the season yet. Good jokes with some touching moments. There! We solved the time paradox!
So is it turning into a Family Guy clone or is it standing on its own?

There is no way in hell Futurama would turn into Family Guy. Futurama is so much better than Family Guy and I'm a Family Guy fan. It's a much smarter show. Futurama is my favorite tv show of all time though so I am slightly bias.

I really like it too, but it kind of caters to the "elitist" crowd. 4/5 people aren't going to get a lot of the science and history jokes that make it great. Many people that enjoy the show like it because of the "Haha...I understand something you don't therefore I'm more intelligent and better than you" factor.
My wife is one of them, and she hates the show. I have to explain a lot of the jokes to her, and by that time she doesn't care. She actually got mad the one time they were at a horse race and they had a "quantum finish", and the professor yelled ""No fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it!" I had to explain what the Heisenberg effect is, and she could only say "WHO THE HELL WOULD KNOW THAT??? HOW STUPID!!!"
So, as I said, the show is made for a specific crowd.
I disagree - 80% of the humour doesnt require any prior knowledge, and even in that case the show is funny. But it's the extra 20% that makes the show one of the best.
Honestly though, it's not an "elitist" thing - if, like your wife, you're too stupid to understand some pretty well known principles, maybe you should read a few books then come back to the show.

LOL- you're an elitist, and so comfortable with it you don't even realize you are one.
Elitism is not synonymous with intelligence. The sooner you realise that the sooner you can stop hating those of us on the right side of the bell curve.

I have to disagree with this. The science jokes aren't funny because some people can't get them, they're funny because they're good science jokes. Quantum finish is an excellent example of a science joke done well. Many people that enjoy the show like it because of the "Haha...I understand something you don't therefore I'm more intelligent and better than you" factor.
LOL! Are you doing that on purpose or are you serious, I can't tell 😀
I'll take good science jokes over random pop culture references any day like Family Guy.I really like it too, but it kind of caters to the "elitist" crowd. 4/5 people aren't going to get a lot of the science and history jokes that make it great.
