They usually don't. If you get shot down, then don't make a scene. You WILL ruin it for all of us in your local area. Instead, just leave and try again later.

i went to BB yesterday in search of these coupons and there were none to be found on the sales floor... i eventually asked one of the employees there if they had any. he got me 1... i asked him if i could get a few more. he was cool about it and got me a small stack, which i took and looked through as i walked through the store. i put the non-30% off ones in those things that hold random BB stuff (the rewards card applications, etc.) i read in this thread that LCDs don't count, but i picked up the L194WT that was on sale for $239 and asked them if the coupon could be used with it. i went to the cash register and asked again. it scanned but didn't take any money off. he got his manager to do an adjustment and it was a total of $189.85 out the door. good deal.

it totally depends on the cashier/manager. i was all polite about it and everything... that goes a long way, apparently.

Being nice is good, but you can't just bend over and get fvcked. You have to assert yourself, politely, because often times, the cashiers just scan the coupon, and say it doesn't work.

I just picked up three of the following using the 20% Coupon.

44.99
X3 (Purchase three to go over the $100 limit on the coupon)
====
134.97
-26.99 (20%)
====
107.98
+5% (taxes)
====
$113.39 (This is what BB shows online for the regular price of one).

SanDisk Cruzer Micro 2GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive - Black

I found CompUSA and J&R have these drives for 44.99, but with a rebates :disgust: ($20). I do not know whether this is a price drop or temp savings. Anyway you could save another ~$9 with the coupon.

I picked up a Targus Repel backpack for $35, which I thought was a good deal. The laptop backpack is very well constructed and MSRP is $70.

Targus Repel

Also, the Dynex 100pk CD-R's are $10 or $7 after coupon if you need to get up to $100 total and the SanDisk 2GB flash drive as mentioned.

I went to my Best Buy, saw the coupons, and saw not a single book that had a % off coupon. Am I missing something or could they have run out?

I've used two 30% off coupons so far, one to buy a BFG 7900GT and another one for a Gateway FPD2185W 21" LCD monitor. I went to the customer service desk to use the first coupon, then I went straight to the cashier for the second one. Of course, for both coupons, BB employees had to manually applied 30% discounts, and both times they asked me if I had the reward zone card with me right before entering the discount manually.
So, maybe they are selective about who to give the 30% discount without any other questions, and the reward zone card helps in that case. :p

Local BB has at least 100 of the high value <no number> coupons at the Geeks area help desk. Not sure what I will buy with 30% off coupon.

There are a bunch of those coupons are on sale on Ebay, hummmm... <thinking about get about 100 of those coupons and put them on sale on Ebay>

Damn. I was at BB last night to pick up the eMachines T3418 and didn't see any coupons, so I asked. The guy who pulled the computer down took one and I asked if I could look for one without the copyright, and he thought they all had copyrights, so I just took my 15% off coupon and didn't press the issue since I wanted to get out with the computer. Might go to a local BB today to try again.

Would one of those Cyber brand uninterruptible power supplies count as a "computer accessory"? I saw a 145 minute one for $83 (regular sale price) and wondered about it. If a hard drive doesn't count, as one person suggested, then what the hell would be a "computer accessory"?

Anything know how often BestBuy updates what video cards they will carry at the store? I want like a 7900 GTX or the new 7950 GX? Think of the savings... If I get them to accept the 30% off coupon that I found... anybody know? or will I be better off just getting the 7900 GT OC?

I guess I can see some logic behind an interpretation that wouldn't count an internal
HD as a 'computer accessory', but I'd argue strongly that an external HD is a 'computer accessory'. I'd also think a UPS would have to be counted as a 'computer accessory', but what I think isn't relevent, is it? I'd like to know BB's interpretation on a UPS as well....

they just lie regardless, its not worth imo. would rather wait and just burn them on a fat price mistake
they actually jacked the price of some of their stuff to cover the potential use of a coupon
ie third season of wire was $64.99 regular price last week
but now we been using 20% off on dvd purchases, what is it this week? $79.99
ie what were people using the 30% off to buy? 500gb drive. what is the sale price for this week? $30 more than it was before
i know $30 is not the same is 30%, but they might not :)

What you should've argured on was what the coupon is excluding.
The coupon clearly states for what you cannot use this coupon. That's how I got to used two coupons for buying an LCD and a video card.

I was in BB last week and got some stuff, but did not spend $100 so didn't have use for the coupon at the time. I did go through a stack and find one of the 30% off coupons, so I kept it and plan to go back to byu something worth-while. What are some of the best things to buy with 30% off right now?

I was unsuccessful getting one BB in my area to allow the coupon for a BFG 7900GT, so I went to the other BB 10 minutes away from that and the manager approved it no problem. This is definitely YMMV, but HOT if you can get an understanding manager. I argued the same thing about video cards not in the exclusions list, and he approved it for me and my buddy.

Here's another thing that might help. If any of you still have that expired 12% off coupon that they mail to customers, in the "Computer Accessories" section it lists stuff included as Computer Accessories, and "Sound and Graphic Cards" is explicitly included, so if the manager tries to argue that a vid card is not an accessory shove that coupon in his face and ask him why BB explicitly says that it is on another coupon.

The BB that denied me told me that a vid card was a "peripheral" and not an accessory, and that the coupon was meant for stuff like keyboards and mice! If that's the case, then why is there a SEPARATE 15% off coupon attached to that same little booklet that specifically mentions keyboards and mice?
