LOL all those taxes we pay and only to live like 1900's again - there are some cities in Ca right now with pensioners sucking 90% of taxes leaving hardly nothing for current services - all of USA will be like that soon. I say do away with cops we'll shoot who we need to. No need for prisons either. Do away with schools, we'll educate our own. Do away with Fire for voluntary like so many rural still are.

If we are going to live like Mad Max lets go 100% and keep our change.

Yeah except everyone that volunteers for the Fire Brigade out of it being the cool thing to do will be the last to show up for anything.

It's not about getting rid of things we have, it's getting rid of everyone thinking they should be a millionaire.

If you live in a shitty place....your schools and services will probably be shitty. Sucks but that's the way it has to work. If not then the dollar is worthless and .... oh wait.

Go fuck yourself, you emo pubescent retard. How long have you been working and how much to you pay in taxes? Oh, that's right, you suck at the public tit and brag about it.

My shit smells better than your breath.

lol, u mad? u jealous?

You can't shit out anything smelling better than froot loops!

Its called tar and chip.

The road by my house is done this way too, I don't get a lot of traffic because I'm rural but it does definitely degrade faster .

Ahh, yep that's it.

5 years ago, all the residential roads were a smooth asphalt, and now they have this stuff on it. I wouldn't miind it so much, but it looks so damn ugly.

Not only that, when they were resurfacing my road, some people left their cars parked on the side. And instead of getting the people to move or tow them, they resurfaced around the car, so every few hundred feet you see a car sized rectangle unpaved. D:

I like tar and chip too :^D Around here it seems to hold up better than asphalt.

Even Mad Max had Paved Roads!

The problem is unions. Ever see the crews they use to put down asphalt roads. Ever watch the pace they move?

Gravel they just dump and roll it over with a roller. I'd use the term 'steamroller' but like in real life you get the fucktards that want to explain they haven't used steam to run them for a long time....🙂

the big problem with gravel though is it wears tires out and really makes a mess of the vehicle. Just passes the costs to the consumer.

Every road crew I've seen it's like 10 standing in circle jerk and one dude working. Unsustainable.

I was thinking that the other day as I passed a road crew of Mexicans. There were about a dozen of them standing there all watching two guys doing the work. If any or all of these clowns were illegal that just adds insult to injury.

Leaning on shovels is hard work that only illegals will do. Everyone knows that Americans won't do that lowly work.

I would if I was hungry enough. That's the problem some Americans have had it good so long they don't know how to really work for $. But that will remedy itself shortly. 5-10 years after greater depression I see a great resurgence like our grandparents had.

We have too many snotnosed college grads who believe they are owed a cushy job in an office and a big salary. They don't realize or understand what is coming and will be the first to die in the coming apocalypse.

All this will end I think. What's happening now is Municipalities and State can no longer borrow due to poor credit rating, banks know we are fucked and can't extend and pretend forever, so they are cutting back. First it's the roads and teachers that get cut as we are seeing, then it will be essential services. Then people will be like WTF am I paying taxes for nothing for? Fuck that. Tax revolt, pensioners screwed. Then we can reset. During the interim people will relearn what a buck is all about and what it takes to earn it. Steel sharpens steel and whatnot.

I don't know how it works in other states, but here, any real road work is contracted out. Bids are cutthroat even in the best of times, and I imagine it's gotten worse since the depression. There's always "extras" that popup in contract work, but any work that's being done is about as cheap as it gets.

LOL I dunno...In combat you never know who will shine. No? Least that what I was told by dad VN vet. Sometimes the big jock tuff guys crawl in their holes while nerd becomes rambo.

I don't understand. Ten years ago we had a surplus and massive surpluses as far as we could see. There weren't enough people for all the jobs we had.

Now ten years later I am getting gravel roads?????

China should have NEVER been granted favored trade status. I saw the writing on the wall way back then.

most union is not going to have any illegals though.

Depends where you live. In the boonies, sure, in urban areas, you'll never see that happen. Roads are an essential necessity for commerce and economic activity. Heck, roads are being torn up and resurfaced all the time in Eastern MA.

We sort of have these shitty roads around here where they throw gravel down and put a layer of tar. Then a few weeks later they sweep the excess gravel off.

It's pure shit because after a year you already have potholes galore. My city is too damn cheap to pave roads properly, yet they're bleeding money on public projects that no one wants.

Edit: i guess it's still technically asphalt, but it's the shittiest quality possible.

It's better than just plain gravel.....

lol, you will be their leader as their sysop!

HUH? We have been borrowing 30 years and pretending we are rich.

Ah hell, just sell all of the roads to foreign countries and let them maintain them and charge toll. IIRC, that's happening already....let's just accelerate it a little more. No more taxes and you only pay if you travel the road. Solved. 😛

There was a "paper" surplus but that included the SS debt being used as general funds.
