Back pain is suck!

My lower back, especially around my tail bone, has been hurting. Today I could take it no longer. I went to the E.R. They didn't really do anything but tell me to schedule with my regular doc (Which I was already gonna do.) and gave me some medicine. Moral of the story:

Back pain = Bad
Pain medicine = Good
Good pain medicine makes the bad pain go away. 😀

<< /me gives you a backrub to make it feel better >>

Step away from my woman and let me work here.

/gets out tickets to Hawaii and backrub equipment

Awwww Thanks you guys. A massage sounds so incredibly good right now. Although I think I'll be saying hello to Mr. Sandman soon. Pain medicine also = Sleepy. lol *hugs for the nice guys.*

I know what lower back pain is all about.
I missed an entire season on the golf course and 3 months of work due to 2 bulging disks in my back.

Pain meds are good, better living through chemistry.😉

I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and also told that the vertebral joints (I think) in my lower back were starting to degenerate. lol Since the age of around 17 I've had the worst of luck. I think I'm going on about 85 years old now. 😉

ulf....Hmmmm I don't think so. I hit you a whole lot more that you did me. 😉

I know, my wife asked me about the bruises in the strang places. And my head still hurts.

TGG, if I'd have known that maybe I wouldn't be in so much pain now. lol By the end of the day yesterday...UGH. LOL

After you go to your doctor try visiting a chiropractor. I had lower back pain & my friend who is a chiropractor worked on me over a month (twice a week) and I pain free after that. Also after your back feels better you should do some back & abdominal exercises....... when you strengthen these areas you will have less trouble with your back in the future.

Cheers,
Aquaman

Hzl_grl you shouldn't go to a doctor for back pain, you should see a chyro. They'll fix you up good and proper.

No, I have no idea what caused it. I just know that I'm hurting really bad. Whether I'm lying down, sitting...whatever. About 30 or so minutes ago I took two generic vicodin and I'm still hurting. ARGH! lol

I used to go to the chiropractor a long time ago and it didn't always make a really big difference in me. Sometimes it did, but sometimes it didn't. 😕

You should go to a chiropractor regularly, not just when you have symptoms. If your spine is healthy then your nervous system is healthy which means you have a better chance of healing your body naturaly rather than taking drugs that will just mask the symptom.

It might be a bit expensive but how much do spend on material things and how much on your body? Which is more important?

Personally, I like Stallion's idea. lol

The expensive part isn't why I stopped going. My insurance covers it. I just didn't think it was making that much difference. I am going to make an appt with my doctor tomorrow and I'll see what he says. I'm also going to start swimming again to exercise it.

I think I can say (with some authority) that back pain is among the worst! DEFINATELY go to a Ortho &/or Chryro! I hurt myself very badly in Aug. 1999.......after I got "fixed" by the hospital & work comp. Doctors....went to my cousin (who's a partner in a Chyro & Terapy Center)for Therapy. He tried everything to fix me up! (it was all controled by work comp.) They sent me back to work after a short time (against my cousins advice)....... and the same day I went back I collapsed.....ended up having surgery.......first time just a Back Fusion.......worked, but not very well, or for very long.........2nd surgery........15" of Titanium rods.......Cages......6 Screws.....and 3 Disks Fused + I may never work again, or at least not for the next year! The last time they went in through my chest...NOT FUN! Basicly, now I live on "Narco", & "Darvocett" (Narcotics) & "Vioxx" (an anti-inflamitory)! I'm not suppose to lift over 10 pounds and can't drive over 30 miles at a time! DON'T SCREW AROUND WITH YOUR BACK! First stop you'll have......most likely an MRI..........Just make sure you check out & choose very good Doctors......I did the second time but it was already to late....the damage had been done!

Excercise is not the key to a healthy body. Nor is a good diet. These things help but they wont stop backpain. If you get recurring backpain, I highly suggest regular chiro work. I just went to an info session tonight on chiro work so if I sound like "Dr know it all" then sorry heheheh.

The wife has had a bad back before. She had a bulging disk on L5. It flares up every once in a while but she doesn't want to have the surgery to fix it. Every once in awhile it will really knock her out for a day or so.

Bojo, I don't mind at all. I appreciate the info. 🙂 I will try to call the Chiro tomorrow. Today was just about more than I could handle. I was sitting here this evening in so much pain. I started to cry and my mom walked in the room and was like...."Heather, what's wrong?!?". I told her and she suggested the E.R. since we didn't really know what was wrong. I want to be able to feel good the rest of my life without bad knees or a bad back AND without having to take pain medicine.

I don't know anything about back..
All I can say is.. take care yourself.
It's just my hunch.. but I think you should consider spending less time in front of computer.. 🙁

Are you trying to get rid of me? 😉 Actually, even when I'm here I'm constantly changing my position. Or...I get up every so often. 🙂
