Ye gods, that's even more amazing. Though I was pretty happy about not having to deal with any rebate at the $220 price point.
 
By the way, I haven't mentioned it yet in this thread, but I've been playing Sleeping Dogs and the game is absolutely fantastic. Honestly, I went in with low expectations since I was never much of a GTA fan, but I am totally hooked.
 
Dang! Missed it by 3 days! Ordered mine on the 29th. Only good on purchases after the 1st. Very happy with my card though (other than the size which barely fit in my case)...anyone looking at buying a card around this price should jump on this!

Yeah I feel for you, I did the same thing. 🙂

But I don't really mind the $20, the card is awesome.
 
Newegg removed the Sleeping Dogs coupon from Newegg.ca

Its the exact same deal on the Canadian site minus the coupon.

I was ready to buy this thing until I saw that. For the hell of it I live chatted Newegg and asked why US gets sleeping dogs and we don't (other 7870's on newegg.ca have it).

She refused to give it to me and said "it was a promo decision, out of my hands"

I was being totally honest and polite in telling her its the reason I won't buy it then. I was ready to give her my credit card info if she gave it to me.

Oh well. I'll open my new 7850 PE and use that instead. Hoping it O/C's over 1200!

EDIT: I already bought sleeping dogs (about 50% done overall), so I wanted it included so I could simply sell it to go towards the card, making returning the 7850 worthwhile....plus I like exhausting the air out the back.

That's strange, the AMD page lists the promo as valid for "North America" (not just US) and lists Newegg as one of the stores.

No go.... New girl named "Paige" told me the promo is not available on this card.

I asked why is it available on the US site then? Why was it before? Why do other sites have it with this card? (We get our stuff shipped to us from Newegg in US too btw).

Ah well, not worth fighting over. She couldn't provide me any answer at all besides "We're sorry".
 
I use a 4870, have a 560 sitting in a box I haven't bothered to use, but this is tempting.

Hmm. (A 'someday' project is a second gaming PC for the big screen).
 
I couldn't resist. I paid more for my 7850 PE that sits here unopened just 2 days ago, and I prefer blower style coolers as I like small cases. *Edit- I have my HTPC Case modded to fit anything*

I bite. I'm submitting an RMA to return my 7850 unopened. No restock unopened.

Yeh the 7970 is on their site with 3 free games but only available in Thailand. Not too happy with HIS right now anyway.
 
Well crap...was gonna bite at that price and try to trade Sleeping Dogs to someone for Borderlands 2.

I have toyed with cards and my setup a lot... and ive lost some money, im aware. I'm all done with that. My 7870 once arrives will be the keeper... for a couple years anyways.

I bought a 5870, installed it to find it was dead. Returned it to the dude I bought it from. No idea what happened, as he claims it worked when he pulled it from his rig. Wouldn't work for him either after returning it. Odd as it was given to me in a proper anti-static bag, kept there till I got home, and wouldnt work from the get go.

Ah, bummer. This stuff happens. That's one risk of buying and selling used - when it's not clearly either person's fault that something went wrong, but just bad luck, someone has to take the fall. Glad the seller was willing to be the fall guy.

Anyway, enjoy the new card, and let us know how it works (pics too???). Looks like some other purchasers in this thread have been happy (but a purchaser of a HIS 7970 in another thread was not, so stay on your toes).
