For those who have the card, could you run gpu-z while benchmarking it in 3Dmark and post a pic of the max VDDC? Im interested to see whether you have voltage spikes and whether that's normal.

Thanks in advance.

I received my card yesterday. All is well...running 1150/1325 no issues at stock voltage.

Played BF3 online last night (on high graphics setting, 5760x1080 eyefinity 3x1) for a hour or so...had 3 lockups. Not sure if this is related to the overclock, or to Battlefield 3.

I ran the BF3 FPS command, and was getting between 30-40 fps on average. Wondering if my AMD Phenom II 965 OC to 3.8ghz is hampering the card's overall framerate performance.

Also, I saw somewhere that Eyefinity bezel compensation now can compensate for multiple monitor sizes - for me, 23" - 24" - 23", but I don't get a vertical adjustment when running bezel compensation...only horizontal. This may be an Eyefinity 2.0 feature, which is 79** only.

Lastly, the refresh rate of my monitors reports in CCC as being capable of 75mhz at 1080i, but after creating the eyefinity group, I only get a 60mhz option.

Sorry to go waaaay off thread here, but still specific to this awesome deal on a very fast card.

I wouldn't have bought a 7870 if I was running at that resolution, but more power to you if it works for you.

Hopefully this is what you are looking for. VDDC does increase while running 3DMark.

If you had three lockups, I'm not sure you can consider your overclock stable. I'd drop it down to stock and see if you can go an hour or so in BF3 without lockups.

Also, while the Phenom does bottleneck BF3 pretty heavily at lower resolutions, I'm pretty sure that at 5760x1080, the 7870 will be the bottleneck. The CPU can certainly support at least 40fps, which is what you said you're getting.

By the way, I'm glad to hear everyone who jumped on this deal is happy with the card. I saw one recent negative review on Newegg, and a number of positive reviews, so I'm hoping most people are having good experiences with this deal.

A bit puzzled by this comment, as my old 5870 ran 5760x1080 fairly well in BF2 and other FPS games.

It could be that I am just not as much of a power user as you, but the 7870 (plus mild overclocking) exceeds 7950 speeds. For single card solutions, these are among the fastest.

For $180 (what I paid after rebate and selling Sleeping Dogs), were there better options that I missed?

It all depends on what settings your expect to run at. I have no doubt that a 7870 could push 5760x1080 at sufficiently low settings. A lot of people here demand to run the latest games at the highest settings. For that you would need a higher end xfire setup.

Oh, I'm not saying that there's anything better at this price. I just would have purchased a higher-end card, since you can't comfortably (>30 fps) use AA on a 7870 at that resolution. But on a $200 budget the 7870 is still a great choice.

at this time, this card is the best performing card one can buy for $180-200, as most 7850's cost the same or more (with the exception of a few 1gb variants). GTX 660's start at $230, without a free game. Whether this is enough performance for anyone depends on his/her needs.

Looks like one of mine is going to have to go back. I finally tracked down a noise I've been having shortly after I put them in. It was a clicking noise coming from the fan on one of them. It sounded like a dieing hard drive. Wonder how Newegg will handle the exchange with none in stock.

GiN, here are the max readings you asked for during 3DMark11. It seems weird to me that the 12V sensor would read almost 28V though.

Pheran, thanks for the update. It confirms that gpuz is not always accurate. I have similar numbers (very high max vcore numbers) so I switchedo using afterburner for vcore monitoring. Thanks!

Yes! I finally snagged one. I was going to ask for a video card for Christmas, but my wife said to go ahead and order it as an early Christmas present!

Newegg has 40 of them in stock as of 12pm EST / 9am PST so get em while they last!! I'm waiting for BF deals though I thinks...

I thought about waiting, but my limit is $200. I'd have to be able to snag a 7950 or 670 for that price to make waiting worth it. That might happen on BF, but I'm guessing it would be a B&M special, and I only do online shopping on BF.

Also, my 4870 512MB has been awaiting an upgrade for at least a year 🙂

Amazon also has 6!

EDIT: But I don't think you get Sleeping Dogs this way, so that's a significant downside.
