I've been using Azureus since that last BT client thread, and I'm :heart:ing it. I had only ever used the default client before, so I don't have a huge frame of reference, but I like Azureus quite a bit. The interface has a lot of useful stuff, and I don't think I could give up handling multiple torrents (especially for seeding) after this.

The Java compiler (or whatever I should call it) takes up quite a bit of RAM, to say I'm just running a BT client, but 40 MB is really nothing.

I've tried all the clients, and I prefer ABC bittorrent client. I think Suprnova's days are numbered, so get while the getting is good.

Not to mention PTC is a Python app as well. If anything is more horrible than Java it's Python. Resize the PTC window and watch it flicker. Worse than a 1992 VB 3.0 app.

I used bittornado(shadows) but now am using ABC. I had problems with Azureus before, I wonder if it's better.

How do you get the new version of Azureus to shrink to the tray?
I can only shink it to the taskbar.

Wierd, thats what I thought but when I shrink it to the tray it completely dissapears. It's still running but the icon isn't in the tray.

While I personally like BitTornado more than Azureus, I can't argue with Azureus' "single port core." As it is, I'm basically cheating ResNet and the packet shapper to get an unshaped incoming port, so a client that allows me to open multiple torrents on the same port is a must.

azureus doesnt suck comp resources like ABC does

I haven't any resource related problems with ABC. I can play games, burn CD's, surf the web, and anything else with ABC running in the background. No problems at all.

I downloaded the new version of Azureus but my CPU usage is 94%-99% now.

EDIT: It's not Azuereus; CpuIdle is making the CPU usage ~100% because of how it works  :)

I'm a long time user of ABC too but downloaded Azureus yesterday...

one feature I like (you ABC users, tell me if this can be done) is that you can set priority on individual files within a torrent...

ABC has been crapping out on me... I can't figure out why. It never closes properly, and refuses to shrink to the tray anymore... and hangs when you launch a torrent from w/in browser or from a file. you have to enter the url manually.

Not that I know of but I'm not sure why you'd want to. Ususally can't use the torrent unless you have all the pieces so does it matter which order they get downloaded in?

My ABC gives me an error every time I close it on one PC but not on my other one. I have one PC that just permanently uploads stuff and my main one I use for downloading when I find something good.

But all in all it does exactly what I need it to so it works fine for me.

Why do you think Suprnova's days are numbered?
