If that's the case, Tents are inadequate.

On the contrary, tents in the middle of a desert surrounded by a tall fence, lots of barbed wire, and guards with big machine guns that aren't afraid to use them is perfectly safe.

I can't agree with everything the man does, but Sheriff Joe Arpaio they have there does have some good ideas .

From his site:
Sheriff Joe Arpaio created the 'tent city jail' to save Arizona from spending tens of millions of dollars on another expensive prison complex. He has jail meals down to 20 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them. He banned smoking and pornographic magazines and took away their weightlifting equipment.
He started chain gangs that put inmates to work on county and city projects and saves taxpayer's money.
He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails. So he hooked up the cable TV again but only allows the Disney channel and the weather channel.

When asked why the weather channel, he replied: 'So these morons will know how hot it's gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs.'
He cut off coffee because it has zero nutritional value and is therefore a waste of taxpayer money. When the inmates complained, he told them, 'This isn't the Ritz/Carlton. If you don't like it, don't come back.'

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record for June 2nd 2007), the Associated Press reported: About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed wire surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts.
On that Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing pink boxer shorts were overheard chatting in the tents, where temperatures reached 128 degrees. 'This is hell. It feels like we live in a furnace,' said Ernesto Gonzales, an inmate for 2 years with 10 more to go. 'It's inhumane.' Joe Arpaio, who makes his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. 'Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for parole only to go out and commit more crimes so they can come back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things many taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves.'

The same day he told all the inmates who were complaining of the heat in the tents: 'It's between 120 to 130 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to walk all day in the sun, wearing full battle gear and get shot at, and they have not committed any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!'

Illegal immigrants have NO rights under the laws of the Constitution of the United States.

They can be down in an overstuffed shit hole before I care about them.

They dont even deserve that luxury.

You're funny. Were you touched in naughty places by Pablo or something? Lots of angst against something that I highly doubt has any direct, tangible effect on you.

Dean Martin, candidate for Governor in AZ with support from Sheriff Joe bring you this. A plan for a "tent city" in Arizona for undocumented workers? A concentration of illegal humans in a camp. It is just getting worse down here, more and more people supporting fascism.

Lefties always equate basic common sense laws with fascism - a reason why everything they get control over falls into dysfunction.

Haha, just like the righties equate everything that the lefties do with fascism-- at least, we lefties know the correct definition of the word. :)

That's what Hitler said.

Godwin. Srsly though, why Tents? Why Camps? This just seems like attention whoring and a waste of Taxpayers $ for the sake of looking like they're doing something.

Guess you didn't read the article. Thisis a move to save money.

Gotta put the illegals somewhere. What better place than tents while they await deportation.

What is bad about this awesome idea? Really. What down side us there.

My guess is you can't provide for yourself nor have the knowledge to do so. I'd be just fine. Shelter is not a right.

Or to first-gen German-Americans:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_American_internment
A total of 11,507 people of German ancestry were interned during the war, accounting for 36% of the total internments under the Justice Department's Enemy Alien Control Program.

People do not think about those innocent, forgotten ethnic Germans:(

No it's not necessarily racist, just ignorant. On the other hand you're a lowlife racist.

How is calling someone that is not legally in the US an ILLEGAL ignorant?
What is ignorant is people like you that support people that break our laws, drain our resources and commit multitudes of crimes.

It is the fact that people like you LABEL and denigrate and feel justified to look at a fellow human as just a fucking miserable label

No compassion ... just loving OUR stolen land too...

Sheriff Joe has used tent prison camps for US citizens in the past. How the f is this any different. I think it's a great idea, especially if ICE is not going to process them.

Whats wrong with labels? Would you not call someone who steals a thief? Or someone who rapes a rapist? Or someone who kills a murderur?
