damn, probably too late, but what brand of tents i wonder... and who's ac units?

and you have obviously never seen how migrant farmworkers live or you would be applauding the gov't for giving them decent tents to live in...

well, isn't a prison kind of a concentration camp? just very permanent?

probably violates the constitutional rights of prisoners if it's a tent camp, even if it's the sort of long term tent camp that the military sometimes uses.

Tent? A ticket back to their country of origin(or LA) would be much more effective.

And what exactly is wrong with this? And change your title, it's for ILLEGAL immigrants. Where else would you suggest storing them while they are being readied for deportation and prosecution?

This is a great idea. Make it as painful as possible for illegals and they will self deport. The problem fixes itself.

Part of that plan involves working with Arpaio to establish a "statewide" tent-city style jail system, specifically designed to house illegal immigrants who have been convicted of crimes at low cost. "There is no reason the state of Arizona should be building comfy new prisons for those who are violating our laws," Martin said.

I like the "moderate" thread title, you omitted "illegal," but left out "concentration" to compensate. But, I see that it was eluded to in the OP, so this gets the "Center-Left" classification.

I wish we could put our criminals (that may or may not be citizens) in tent cities. If government issued tents are good enough for soldiers to live in, good enough for them (save for the elderly / ill that might not be able to handle the conditions).

I didn't know that elude could take an indirect object... :awe:

Ever since Obama began building FEMA Camps, every other Government Agency has got the idea of building their own.

Are these Interment Camps necessary? Do you think that they should have these same Interment Camps in the Northeast for illegal Brazilians, Haitians, Eastern Europeans and Canadians?

Illegal immigrants have NO rights under the laws of the Constitution of the United States.

They can be down in an overstuffed shit hole before I care about them.

They dont even deserve that luxury.

The prison camps for criminals would be fine by me.

Internment is the imprisonment or confinement[1] of people, commonly in large groups, without trial. The Oxford English Dictionary (1989) gives the meaning as: "The action of 'interning'; confinement within the limits of a country or place." Most modern usage is about individuals, and there is a distinction between internment, which is being confined usually for preventive or political reasons, and imprisonment, which is being closely confined as a punishment for crime.

did you not read the OP where AZ said they were already convicted?

are you playing on words?

or did you like to troll in here?

Sounds fine to me. They're being rounded up for deportation, not extermination. This isn't like imprisoning the Japanese during WW2 or anything. These people are here illegally - they deserve to be treated as criminals.

oh no, no, no...you see these are just "undocumented workers" as the OP said. Calling them illegals or criminal is racist didn't ya know?

No it's not necessarily racist, just ignorant. On the other hand you're a lowlife racist.

That's what Hitler said.

Godwin. Srsly though, why Tents? Why Camps? This just seems like attention whoring and a waste of Taxpayers $ for the sake of looking like they're doing something.

Arizona is placing ILLEGAL immigrants into tent cities not immigrants.

Prison, tent cities, whats the difference?
(Except for one being significantly cheaper)

There needs to be a symbolic showing that the U.S. will not cave to illegals, many of them criminals (In this case, all of them are criminals). As for "why tents? Why camps?" - it's cheaper than building new prisons for the criminals who shouldn't be here in the first place.

To clarify for those who lack reading comprehension: This isn't even about rounding up all the illegals and deporting them. This is about taking dangerous criminals out of society. Any American against that really just does not have the country's interests at heart.

If that's the case, Tents are inadequate.
