just let it play in the back. I'm not even sure you have to watch it all the way through for it to count as a hit.

I feel bad about spamming this all over the place, but hey it's for the grade, so what the hell?

You're at 2,300 and I've contributed twice.

Soo...when is this "due"?

Well, he stops counting on may 6th I think.

Also, if we get 50,000 we get a lot of extra credit.

Anyone know if there's a way to quickly get hits for something like this without using a lot of computers? B/c I's rather hit F5 all day than spam forums, etc. Also, do the videos have to play all the way through for it to count as a "view" on youtube?

If you guys want to help seriously, or OP just do this yourself, go download the Firefox extension "autoreload" (I think this is what it is called). Open a bunch of tabs of this video, set the auto reload on all of them to 15-30s depending on your connection and bandwidth, and leave it on over night. Choose 15-30s, leaving about 5-10 seconds after it loads the page for the video to start buffering and playing.

Sweet! gonna try that. Wish I knew for sure if it'll work with youtube though, wouldn't it make sense for them to want to thwart attempts like that to gain views?

The whole class put together the project, under the close oversight of the professor (the dude in the beginning of the video).

I don't imagine, because not many people have the desire like you do to get lots of views. A vid would need tons and tons of views 300,000? Before it got anywhere. And if it's crap, nobody's going to rate it high anyways. So it would quickly be filtered out and nobody would care. Which is probably what would happen to yours because it has little significance to most of the world (they don't care about science? and it's not 30second humor which is what a lot of youtube is good for); but that doesn't matter because you just need the extra credit :)

So a shitty video with a 10000 hits will get a better grade than a great video with 1000 hits?

I'd just put up a stupid video and get some script kiddies to increase the count.

nope, there's only one video for the class and everyone's grade is affected by it.

hm, I refreshed the page a couple times and it doesn't seem to be increasing the views....wonder if they log unique IPs for each video and not individual views...or if the #views does not update dynamically...
