Candy cigarettes

Such an evil heinous idea, but they tasted good.......kind of like a raw sugar with faint hint of peppermint....they were even better when they went a little stale and got a little chewy.
I can still find them, thankfully though, the price hasn't skyrocketed like the real thing (30 cents vs $6).

Where can you get them? I thought they were all discountinued because they didn't want kids to smoke. They were very tasty.

They're called "Candy Sticks" now, though they still have the red tip on the end to look like a cigarette. Specality candy stores have them.

Remember the gum cigarettes? They had a wax wrapper on them, and if you blew through the wrapper powdered sugar would blow out and look like smoke :)

wow.... I remember seeing some of this stuff advertised in the late 80s / early 90s. There was some cereal that I liked, but I can't remember the name of it... I'm sure it'll come to me. Other than that, this thread reminds me of all kinds of stuff I wanted to eat when I was a kid. :p

QFTMFT!!

I like bananas, but I hate anything flavored banana... Except for real banana cream pie, because it's basically chopped up bananas in there, thats good. dried banana chips are foul!
Apples are also good... anything flavored green apple or sour green apple is horrible. apple juice tastes good, but it makes my ears pop for some reason.

I'd also like to add the Chili-Cheese Burrito from Taco Bell. It was the reason I actually went there for the punishment.

Just happen to think of another one.

I don't know how popular they were, since I've only ever seen them available from the Schwan Man.

They were Soft Pretzel Sticks (like these) but were filled with peanut butter and jelly instead of cheese.

They were sooo good.

YES! So good!

Do they still make Tato Skins chips? Loved those when I was a kid.
 Those were terrific. Of course, one serving had like 120% of the daily recommended allowance for sodium, but hey, I ate 'em and I'm still he.. *grabs chest* *wheeze wheeze* qwfkja.b// dfklvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
:p

BTW, do they still actually sell Pop Rocks? Not that I miss them or anything. Just curious. Also, anyone remember Razzles? Do they still sell those?

EDIT: Oops, just realized this thread was a couple hundred posts long.

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonald%27s_menu_items

Pizza: McDonald's has also attempted pizza at various times, with an apple-pie-like McPizza and more conventional McDonald's Pizza. A line of personal sized pizzas were sold in the early 90s. In Ontario, Nova Scotia, and British Columbia (c. 1992-1995) the pizza originally began as a family sized pizza that was brought out to the table by an employee and placed on a raised rack in the centre of the table. Later it was scaled down to a personal sized pizza when the larger version did not sell well.

Haha we had that stuff only in Canada, no wonder no one has ever heard or missed McDonald's Pizza. It tasted like Pizza Hut but better, thin soft crust, lots of cheese and crazy pepperoni. Mmmmm I loved it.

Yeah, I saw Ohs the other day at the grocery store!

I can't really think of anything except for the fact that every single salsa that I find that I really like...I'll go back to buy more and they don't sell it anymore! :(

Now as far as other products besides food products...pretty much anything that I find that I really really like gets discontinued!:disgust:

There was a soda by Pepsi called Slice. The mainstay was Lemon Lime, but in the earlier years there was also cherry, apple, and a few other flavors if I recall correctly. They were all good, but I really liked the apple.

Yes, they still sell Pop Rocks just about everywhere. Now there are Chocolate Pop Rocks and a few flavors that turn into gum.

Slice is still made as well, but it's mostly found in orange.

Didn't someone sue Pepsi when the orange flavor first came out because they claimed that the coloring permanently stained their teeth or skin or something like that? :)

Years ago, there was a cereal that I think was a promotional tie in with the Olympics, but I could be wrong, it could have just been sports themed :) .

It looked very similar to Kix, but it was loaded with sugar. Each little puff had red or blue food coloring on it to make lines so that that the cereal looked like little basketballs, volleyballs, etc.

I also feel like they slapped the Wheaties name on it, although they were completely unlike Wheaties, so that doesn't make sense.

Obviously I don't remember the details, but I do remember it tasted fantastic.

So I was having a strange discussion with a friend last night about weird food products that you remember existing but are nowhere to be found now.

There were three I came up with that I really wish were still made or that I could find again.

'Giggle Cookies' which were weird oreo like cookies with faces in them and the creme center made up the face that was punched out of the outer cookie. These things were amazing, I'd love to find out why they were pulled.. wish I still had some.

This one is particularly strange because I cannot find any reference to them ever existing from Kelloggs except what I found on the net. They used to have Kellogg's Mini-Wheats with different fruit centers in them.. the ones I remember were Strawberry, Blueberry, Apple-Cinnamon and Raisin. They weren't frosted unlike the stupid 'strawberry delight' crap out there now and they had smuckers filling... mm. Why did they pull these? :(

Third, I don't have a name for and I'd really like if someone could come up with a name/picture of it for me. It was a drink mix that you made yourself inside an accordian looking cylinder that pulled up to make the drink. Does anyone remember this one? I swear people tell me I'm crazy when I reference it but I know someone out there will remember.

Any other stuff you guys miss?

I remember ALL of those. Giggle cookies were one of those things I always wanted my mother to buy but never found waiting for me in my lunchbox. The cereal we did get -- my sister used to carefully break them in half and use them as toast with jelly for her Barbie dolls. :) The last one we had too, but I don't remember the name.

Do they still make Bonkers fruit chew candy? I want grape right now :p

Nice, sounds like our mothers were the same. I had to get my dad to buy them for me :D
