Who's bright idea was it to put VBA scripting on Outlook anyway? If people would just use some other email client than Outlook, then we wouldn't have these problems with viruses like sobig. Yeash.

VBA scripting in Outlook has nothing to do with sobig (sobig isn't a script virus, script viri have been pretty well managed for awhile now). Your statement that 'if people whould just use some other email client' is false, the virus would just target that product instead.

Hey, you're right. Then I fail to understand why the worm is spreading so widely since it's so easy to recognize a worm that relies on attachments.

Will that work with IE?

Huh? I'm not sure I conpletely understand the question.

Thunderbird is based of the Mozilla code, so it renders HTML email through GECKO, but links will use whateveris your primary browser.

You would think so, but unfortunately there are too many people who (still) don't know better.

spend a month working at a small local pc shop. you'd be surprised how many machines come in with the AV that came on the machine when they bought it 3 years ago, never updated. and when you put updated AV software on it's in a month later with the latest virus and guess what, no updates since you installed it! and chances are 90% of their address book is the same way. if they can't keep norton or mcafee updated (heck norton will update itself!) then how are you going to keep your OS patched? just a big mess.

Hey, how about these retards get some AV software and freakin' keep it up to date! I swear to God! I got 6 emails in OUTLOOK and AVG slapped them around and made them its b!tch. :) AVG yanked the viruses out of the email before it got into my inbox. :)

Even before this I wasn't using Outlook or OE, before this I was on Eudora, then Eudora Pro ever since the start of the Internet revolution in the mid 90s :) I've never used Outlook/OE unless I was forced to on a foreign PC.
