They were all the rage in the 80s and very early 90s.

Then they fell out of favor for increasingly small lenses that were virtually useless on bright days.

I hope they do make a comeback. The lens shape is ideal and most effective for filtering sunlight and glare.

They're coming back in style, but most of the people I've seen wearing them also look like they haven't combed their hair in about 10 years.

I use a pair of Serengheti aviators for driving, but never for walking around in public. :eek:

Aviators look good on certain people. I think they look good on me, but I lost mine (sucks because they were prescription). Now I use sunglasses that fit around my glasses. $20 from Walgreens, but they're polarized. UV protection may wear off, but my glasses block UV too. Yes, I look like an old lady.

How someone looks with aviator sunglasses is VERY dependent on the size of the frame. Too large or too small for your face, and they just look silly. But if you can find the right size for your face, just about anyone can pull them off.

The reason many of you think they look good on a few people is because many people get the wrong size.

I think it helps to have a large schnozz...

Naw, but chubby cheeks makes it difficult to wear them. People with chubby cheeks end up having the bottom the the frames resting on their cheeks.
