Disney has mad it official, announced an agreement to buy X-Men and FF for Marvel. Only leaves 3 "characters" not under their full control that I'm aware of.

That's kind of an awkward way to put it. They bought pretty much all of Fox except for the Sports, News and broadcast stations. (Disney owns ABC, so it can't legally own FOX network.) Because of that, Disney now owns the rights to Fantastic Four, X-Men and Deadpool.

What I'm hoping this means is that we stop getting so many sequels for existing properties and that Marvel will begin exploring working on entries with some of these newer properties. Not having multiple competing studios might also mean that we get less comic book fatigue as Marvel usually only does two movies per year. Although, Marvel seems to be getting a bit better with their sequels, so I'm not as wary about getting more of them.

If they nerf him w/ full IG i'd be irritated, but they need to introduce his weakness somehow in a way that isn't deus ex machina as mentioned already.

They'll likely make him not as powerful, or we'll see the introduction of Adam Warlock to help take on Thanos. It's too bad Marvel didn't get some of their properties back sooner as we'd get some even more interesting people to use.

They actually did buy some of the sports, but as far as this thread the Comic movie enterprise by far the most important portion.

we brits always get avengers (and most marvel movies) before you yanks so i wonder if it's moved ahead for us too. it was always april for us - not may

Going from memory, I believe the intent, other than clearing space for some films coming right after the original US date, was to make it more of a worldwide release date. So the UK date may still be the same.

Just got notice that presales are up.

Ah, I was wondering when they would come out. I was tempted to see it in the Cinemark XD theater to see if it's really any better. However, they only have 5 rows available online, and all that's left is the first row. That seems like a rather oddly low amount of rows, so I don't know if the front row is pushed back or anything? I ended up buying one at another theater with better seats, and I picked up an XD ticket for Ready Player One. So, we'll see how it is then!

  • Starlord and Stark 😀
  • Spider-Man and Dr Strange.😛
  • Cap and Thanos 😱
  • More Wakanda 😎

Wow opening day is already sold out at the reserved seats at my theater. I thought at first Black Panther was just something else and IW might not beat it but glad I was definitely wrong.

I'm going to be in Milan at release. Does anyone know where I can watch it in English? 🙁

So with Peter Quill meeting Peter Parker and both having the same first name do you think they’ll wonder if their moms were each named Martha?

I love me some Thanos. He's been my fav character for as far back as I can remember reading comics. I have the Iron Man books he started in, and always pick up whatever he's in... though I do think that no one has really been able to capture him like his creator Starlin. I really hope they don't screw him up. They are already messing with him (at least it appears) with this whole "he wants to wipe out half of life to restore some kind of balance" and I'm sorry... there is no way that Cap would cause Thanos to strain at all.. (Unless he has the power gem which he tech shouldn't be able to hold and use being human and all...)

I agree about Cap and Thanos. However to me Thanos looks like a cat playing with its food. I don’t think he’s really straining.

You guys forget; Cap has the will and the strength of all of AMERICA behind him. The sheer resolve of AMERICA is enough to give even Thanos pause.

I assumed Thanos is also toying with Cap, but also note he only has 2 stones in that scene. My understanding of Thanos mythos is that he always sets himself up for failure for some reason.

Someone needs to recut that scene with "Amerrricaa, Fuck Yeah!".

doesn't matter even if he had 0 gems.
thanos is an eternal.
think Thor trying to crush Cap.

but then again, cap went one on one w/o shield with Ultron.
cap is wwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overpowered in the movies

I couldn't really tell. It looked like he was a bit. Also the line about "I hope they remember you.." seemed around the same time so it made me wonder if they're pretending that Cap could go one on one with Thanos. As Jedi pointed out, they have really upped Cap's strength. This is the guy that was bare knuckle Iron Man and appeared to be doing damage.

I would pause to if I was Thanos and saw the current state of our politics 😀

thanos looks a lot less blue than in post credits scenes from last year?

Different planet, different suns = different lighting.... ooooor someone played with the color slider. I would if I could!

Thanos only self sabotages after he's finished gettting Ultimate power. When he has a goal in mind there's really nothing that can really stop him. It's always after he's achieved his goals does he start mucking up. In the case of the Gauntlet he was also going through a love issue with Death cause she got cranky he didn't tell her he was going to be on Marvel Universe-God level power... He had 100 problems that day so you can't blame him for losing focus on the important things.. like keeping himself in the body that was wearing the Gauntlet. Women, man.. they screw up everything...

This really looks awesome ... hope it doesn't suck.

I hope that as well but I can't help but feel we have already seen the best MCU movies and it will be downhill from here. The only question is how steep that hill will be?

Eh people have been saying this for a long time but look at the last two, Thor and Black Panther.

I haven't seen BP yet....but it seems to me, that like Wonder Woman, the reason it did so well is because it was actually something new that was done well.
