I enjoyed it despite the usual flaws of logic trying to coordinate all the various characters created. I could even see it again, there is so much going on so quickly that you need to pay attention or you'll miss something. I was surprised they didn't include any characters from the Agents of Shield show, almost everybody else was in it, I mean the Destroyer of Worlds may have been some use 😛

Best Avengers Movie. It was awesome. and n00ky - they did actually...end credits.

The only thing is, while it was unpredictable (for me) how it would end...once it did end, I know how the next one ends.

You didnt watch the entire movie, did you?

The most glaring issue, which anyone who even semi pays attention to these marvel movies should know, is that we already know we are getting another Guardians of the Galaxy, another Spider-Man movie, another Black Panther movie, so we know those characters will be fine in the second parter which comes out in a year. Remember people it's only part one of two.

Plus the whole Thor side story really felt super disconnected, not in a good way, from the rest of the movie.

And worldwide opening weekend is $630 million. $250 million domestically. Biggest opening ever.

I don't think that's necessarily a problem. It's kind of like tropes... well, actually... bringing a comic book character back from the dead pretty much is a trope. 😛 Anyway, the thing about a trope is that there's nothing wrong with using one, but the problem is that most movies/shows rely too heavily on the trope (or tropes) and don't do anything of worth with the rest. Even if I go into the next Avengers movie saying "Oh, everyone will be okay at the end", part of what I'm going for is the journey on how we get there.

We need a spoilers thread.. because I have a lot of hot takes I need to get off my chest

Just use spoiler tags.

What’s interesting about that is
The OG Avengers are still alive. Which means they are the ones we really need to fear for. Will one or many have to sacrifice themselves to save the ‘new’ Avengers who Thanos wiped from existence?

As you said the new guys all have their own trilogies to finish. Cap, Ironman, and Thor do not. I’m sure one or more of them are going down. Probably Tony and maybe Cap.

As for the folks who died before Thanos snapped his fingers here’s my take on if they are coming back:
  • Heimdall - dead 99% sure
  • Loki - likely dead 75% - could be brought back by trickery if there is still a Thor or Asgardian story to tell in Phase 4
  • Gamora - 1 in 4 she stays dead - she died in relation to the Soul Stone and Thanos sees her younger self likely in the Stone after snapping his fingers - easy to hand wave her back to life after he’s defeated in time for Gaurdians 3
  • Vision- 50/50 - he’s a newer Avenger -Dr Strange wanted Thanos to have the time stone which means its use is likely part of the way the good guys win - we saw Thanos use it to bring Vision back to kill him - might we rewind back to the moment before Thanos gets the mind gem from him? Or they could leave him dead as part of the stakes paid

Enjoyed the movie as expected, but
I really hate when franchises play with time and space. Deaths are practically meaningless and carry no weight when reality can be treated like a DVR. Also it was immediately apparent to me that all the new MCU guys were the ones that faded away. The remaining ones will likely sacrifice themselves to get those guys back so they can actually show up in their slated movies. I expect the next 10 years of movies to be about the new MCU characters.

I have heard two theories:

The characters who didn't vaporize are actually the dead ones. The ones that DID vaporize are actually alive but in a different reality or realm or universe.

Either Cap or Captain Marvel gets the IG from Thanos and brings them all back.

The gauntlet appeared to be physically damaged -- or at least incredibly scuffed up -- at the end. It seems like it was only capable of using all six stones at the same time once.

...now what could be a really nifty way to handle things...

Avengers 4 finishes and we think things are all fine. However, it turns out that some of our heroes aren't acting like they usually would... something seems off. Most people just attribute it to whatever they did to bring them back; however, what actually happened is that we just started the Secret Invasion. Of course, this would all hinge on whether the Skrulls are introduced in Captain Marvel's movie, which comes out in March 2019 (two months before Avengers 4).

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D did pretty well with integrating the timeline with the previous Avenger, Captain America, and Thor movie's. So based on this movie, how do you think Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will tie into it?

I have no clue, although Talbot sure seems to have transformed into Graviton, and that character is powerful enough to be of use for something 🙂

I enjoyed it more than the other Avengers movies. I found the first two a bit boring. I was curious how they were going to change up the Infinity Gauntlet story line to work for the screen. Overall I think the plot change and humanization of Thanos vs the comic was done well for what they had to work with. I assumed a long time ago that the two movies would be a standard comic style bad guy wins/good guy wins scenario. Also, knowing the comic story line it removes a lot of tension from the film because the gauntlet is a freebie reset button to any event they present.

There is a lot to process, good action flick but way too many characters.

I don't like how the handle Hulk, might as well not having him.
Hela is dead?
Loki better not dead, a great actor and a great character should go like this
This is the most powerful Thor - even before the axe thing - in the 10yrs of MCU
Heros defends against thousand and thousand of "hell hound" is the most unrealistic battle I ever seen
Thano is very likeable
There is oxygen in Titan?
I lol'ed when at the ironman suit, Tony haul it around just like that?

A few random observations:

First off, Black Widow looks like crap. WTF? She is usually hot. Second, anyone notice at the end in Wakanda, where they're all standing around moping and Banner is there in the Hulkbuster armor with his torso exposed....how bad that looks? I can't believe Disney let that go to the final cut. They can make Thanos look real, but Banner standing in a suit looks like something I cobbled up on my home PC?

Hilarious with the Fury comment at the end, a nod to many of the characters he's played.
Also, Iron Man should have just zapped Star Lord. He wasn't doing anything and prevented the IG from being removed with his childish antics.

This movie was so good... I haven't really seen it mentioned here but for me the most amazing scene was early when the Guardians pick up Thor. Thor and the Guardians have both developed very distinct forms of humor. Somehow this scene goes off with both retaining form and neither one overpowering the other. It's absolutely brilliant.

Hulk was a disappointment. I think they've increased his intelligence and lowed his strength level each movie for a while now. I'm okay with a lower power level, but I didn't want to see Banner in the Hulkbuster. I wanted to see Hulk...

Spiderman felt a bit out of place a bit for me. Character felt right, but it seemed an odd choice for where to put him setting wise.

Also, a bit confused about vacuum in outer space and how it works in these movies. Sad that Ebony Maw didn't yell "I'm princess Leia ya'll!"

Really enjoyed it. Marvel has needed a movie that followed a different path and ended on a different note for a while now. This one does an amazing job integrating the story lines.

What was supposed to be the backbone of the MCU became it's stepchild. I remember reading about how AoS writers only discovered that SHIELD was toast when they went to the theater and watched Captain America Winter Solider. Now they only vaguely mention things outside their story lines that could be anything.

Somehow not the worst thing in that issue of Spidey Super Stories. For a book that was written for young kids they sure taught them well on how to roofie someone.

Thanos gives me hope for a Princess Leia trilogy!

So that symbol that gets texted at the
end is to call on Captain America and this time it's a girl!?!?
