Gods Country.
Nothing like going out on a fall Sunday morning, playing some football, and then going inside to watch the Packers play. The smell of the leathery football mixed with the crisp autumn smell...heaven.
Oh, and having brats being grilled. Got to have that.

You know it.

Wife and I recently came back from a labor day vacation in Door County, WI with my folks.

Given that the weather was cold and choppy and unsuitable for the boat anyway, I really wish we had waited until early/mid-October for the fall colors.

My grandmother lives in Jay, NY and the colors there are also just spectacular.

Denver/Capitol Hill area is really pretty in the fall from residential trees, but the mountain colors don't last long and are mostly just yellow anyway. :(

Leaf Peepers are out in full force for the next few weekends, understandably, because there is no place prettier in the Fall. The maples especially are gorgeous this time of year.

Leaves are definitely not at peak yet, but here's a pic not too far from where I live that I took yesterday:

How far upstate are you? Albany looks nothing like this yet :(

Uh, I thought you were in CA...

 I am...but I'm in the Kahleeforneeya farm country. Not nearly city-like...but Kahleeforneeya is far too crowded to suit me too...IF the housing market ever comes back...we're out of here.

In the next couple of weeks we'll get that color down near Albany.

I just want it to drop out of the 80's, I'm sitting in my office with the AC on. I like 60's and low 70's. Go away summer you had your time. Time to go riding.

The leaves are changing early this year (NY.) It's a shame that we're having 40+mph winds here today, blowing a lot of the bright leaves off the trees. Then again, it's blowing the leaves from my maple trees into the neighbor's pasture. :) But, I have a whole forest behind me and the leaves are blowing from there to my yard. :( But! The goats like leaves. So, if the goats can keep up, I won't have to rake.
