How do you figure that? It's butter smooth inline-6 ownz the little torqueless wonder in the TSX.

BINGO!! 😛

Hell, they should have taken the S2000 chassis and made a sedan out of it 😀 That's what the TSX was supposed to be in the first place according to industry reports

Yeah but do you think that Acura's 2nd cheapest sedan would be the first to adopt a RWD chassis? I'd be more inclined to think the larger cars (TL and RL) would be the first to switch...

No dobut the G35 is a beautiful car, a step above the competition. To compare it to a small sporty car like the A4, 3-series, or TSX is a little unfair.
15.2 compared to 15.5.. if anything we should look at 0-60 and quarter miles
It's simple logic that 200hp in a 2000 lb car isnt the same as 200 hp in a 5000 pound car. The fact of the matter is the TSX is at the top of it's game for small sporty sedans in FWD.

Here are a few stats to correct you:

curb weight
G35 sedan 6MT: 3,398 lbs source
TSX 6MT: 3,230 lbs source

headroom (front/rear, in.)
G35 sedan 6MT: 40.1/37.9 source
TSX 6MT: 37.8/37.3 source

legroom (front/rear, in.)
G35 sedan 6MT: 43.6/33.6 source
TSX 6MT: 42.4/34.2 source

shoulder room (front/rear, in.)
G35 sedan 6MT: 56.4/55.5 source
TSX 6MT: 55.4/53.5 source

hiproom (front/rear, in.)
G35 sedan 6MT: 52.2/54.1 source
TSX 6MT: 54.4/54.4 source

Overall Length/Width (in.)
G35 sedan 6MT: 186.5/69 source
TSX 6MT: 183.3/69.4 source

Hmmm.... they look pretty comparable to me 😉 😛 except for the engine

They do have plans for a S2000-based sedan/coupe.

the point i was attempting to make was HP/TQ doesn't determine speed. A better measure of this is the quarter mile, where the TSX trails by .3

My point is that that they are directly comparable, weight-wise, space-wise, etc. Also, Motor Trend says that the 5-spd automatic G35 Sport Sedan does the quarter-mile in 14.68s so I'd imagine the 6-spd manual should best that slightly. and be in the 14.5-14.55 range (the 2 door coupe with the less restrictive exhaust system and 6MT is a 14.23 car). source

Since I've driven neither car I'm hardly an expert on these cars, but by the numbers and reviews it's been getting, the G35 looks mighty tough to beat and I just don't think the TSX is the car to do that.

damn. that is quick. Personally I'd rather have a G35, but I'd take the TSX over the A4/3-series/saab any day..i'd consider them in a different class almost due to their size.

There's no way in hell I'd take a TSX over an A4. The A4 interior OWNZ the TSX and you get AWD. I'd take an Audi A4 1.8t Quattro over a TSX anyday.

HAHHAHAHAHA! 😀

Sooo sad... soo true... 😛
Most Hondas don't have equal length halfshafts but since the onset of torque is mild, torque steer is nearly unnoticeable. There's not huge rush of torque like in other high HP FWDs/AWDs that threaten to rip the wheel out of your hands.

IS300 is more of a sports car with RWD and all..TSX seems more on the luxury side of things.

The IS300 and TSX are both listed as sports sedans. We all know that the IS300/Altezza is one of Toyotas higher end vehicles and was designed as such. We also know that the TSX is just the Euro Accord... basically a car for the masses. So therefore the TSX is more luxury?

LOL at your lack of knowledge about the VW 1.8T. There's a lot of things I disagree with NFS4 about, but not this time.

A4 sucks. Let me dig up one of my old posts about it.
As far as the TSX, it's a much more luxury oriented car. It's interior makes the IS300's interior look cheap and lame.

The 1.8t is a weakass motor, especially for the class it's playing in.

Audi A4s with the 1.8T are about as fast as a late model stick corolla. Those new limited edition sentras would just walk away from an A4.

I agree about the interior, but while the TSX is percieved to be more luxurious in terms of interior (after all it doens't have that boy-racer look) its just as sporty as the IS300.

In the A4, he's right. The 1.8T, as a motor, is excellent. Has great power delivery, lots of torque, etc...but in a A4 making 180hp, its not the greatest. Its good in the GTI.

However once chipped, the 1.8T is awesome in any car.

Doesn't the 1.8T in A4 generate 110kw? Why not chip it to something like 140kw? Should be pretty easy thing to do. Basides, thanks to it's turbo, 1.8T generates lost and lots of low-end torque, and that's ALOT more important that raw performance-numbers!

People who stare at 0-60 and 1/4-mile figures are posers and losers IMO.
