klipsch's promedia line went down the shitters a long time ago when they discontinued the 5.1's, 4.1's, and redesigned the 2.1 into toys. I always hoped they would one day resurrect themselves but I guess that will never happen :(

*hugs promedia 4.1's*

*hugs Promedia 5.1 Ultras*

Audiovox? The bargain brand so desperate for attention they resorted to sexy women in their magazine ads? Had to laugh at the incongruity. sexy != Audiovox

Well they'll come out with a boombox marketed with "PWK SparkomatriX horn supertweeters" or some other nonsense. There will be another quake in Indy but it won't be tectonic it will be Paul's bullshit button going crazy. :whiste:

Not as worried about them F'ing up the promedia line of computer speakers. But they better not mess with the home or pro audio lines:twisted:

I always thought Audiovox was junk though. Am I wrong? Hopefully they're attempting to get into higher quality components and won't abandon Klipsch HQ and the Klipsch audio lab here in Indy.

Well if they do you should buy it and start making some KICK ASS speakers

There'll always be La Scalas and Klipschorns available used, so whatever. :p Although I do like their new Palladium series...can't say I've liked anything else new that they've come out with in the last...decade.

How could such a shitty company like Audiovox acquire Klipsch? That's like Emerson acquiring Sharp.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I was not aware that Audiovox had acquired Thomson Consumer Electronics (makers of RCA, which was what manimal was referring to above). We have a huge Thomson presence in Indy as well, as this was their North American HQ IIRC (and in an incredibly ugly building).

Apparently, they're on a buying spree and probably want the Klipsch name to be their premium brand.

I was saddened when MA-based Boston Acoustics was purchased by a Japanese firm (D&M Holdings, also the owners of Denon).

Why were you sad? Denon is a respected audio company that makes awesome products. Do you just not like an American company being bought by Asians?

I realize it's not the common sentiment of this thread, but good riddance, maybe they'll get competent management now. Unlikely, but possible.

After the experience I had with the iFi, I'll never touch Klipsch again. I'm still not pleased that they dropped support for a product as so many owners started having their set die due to either the control pod or one of the IC's on the controls at the other end (in the sub).

And the quake reverberations will be known as "Audioshox" ;)

The last time Klipsch introduced anything decent were when they introduced the Reference series, oh, so long ago. I still have an rsw-10 (i know I know, should have gotten the 12).

Pfffft, who buys these new. ;) Half of the fun is find a pair that was painted and getting to restore it.

I'm with you. I have a pair of Heresy II's I'm refurbishing at the moment.

I just wanted to make everyone aware that Klipsch still makes and markets their 'Heritage' stuff.

Run some of that shit through a decent tube amp and you'll have an aurgasm.

Exactly. I'd be a lot more upset if BA was purchased by Sony.

Yep. That's what I was talking about when I said they went down hill 10 years ago. The reference series were pretty good for the price.

That's what I have, RF/RC/RSs. What have they put out since then? I honestly haven't looked because I like my set so much I haven't needed to buy anything else. Hmm... wonder if that had something to do with them being bought out. Making products too well so people never upgrade.
