Audiophile told me something today...(regarding Sony "Wegas")

This wasn't a debate of how to pronounce it. It's a debate as to how to SPELL it.

I've seen it spelt as:

VVega
\X/ega
Vega

It's Wega. Sony says it's Wega. Sony's documentation says it's Wega. It's WEGA, not VEGA.

Vega is the brightest (alpha star) of constellation lyrae. It's a white giant/supergiant (can't remember) that forms the summer triangle.

On a clear summer night, look up to the &quot;roof&quot; of the sky and you'll see 3 bright stars forming a triangle. The one closest to the &quot;top&quot; is Vega.

Yikes...this is an awfully odd Debate

It's obviously spelled Wega, and it is pronounced Vega....why is that so difficult to understand?

Just becuase Physics starts with an &quot;F&quot; sound you can't argue it's spelt Fysics (well you could, but we'd all laugh at you).

Just like Wega is pronoucned with a &quot;V&quot; sound, you can't argue it's spelt Vega.

Amen to that. I still remember my awe going from a POS 13&quot; TV/VCR combo to my 20&quot; Wega with a decent quality VCR. Terminator 2 made me want to cry.
