Hello i have an old Sounblaster Live! 5.1 soundcard. The issue i have is that it only seems to play 4 channels at one time when i it can play all the channels perfectly well when only any of 1, 2, 3 or 4 channels are connected to the subwoofer of my speakers but i can never get 5 at the same time.
I am using a Creative program called Creative Audio HQ. When i test my speakers with this program in the 5.1 configuration and say for example the rear-left speaker is disconnected from the subwoofer, I can hear front left, front right, center, pause, rear-right. When i connected my rear-left speaker i get front left, front right, pause, rear left, rear right as if i have removed my center speaker cable from the subwoofer when i have not touched it. It seems almost as if my system is programmed as a 4.1 configuration but i have used the program to make it 5.1. Can anybody offer me any advice?
I forgot to mention that i have used this card flawlessly for about 3 years and for about 1.5 years i have had this problem and not know what to do to help it.
