I've just installed this card and it has given me nothing but a stable and solid system. Did I mention that the sound is GREAT?? 😀

Any idea what I can do with this card?? I tried the DVD audio that came with the box but they all played at 96Khz.....booooooooo.......I upgraded from a Sblive BTW. 🙂
 
M-Audio Revolution is gonna kick some Creative's ass. 🙂 But then Audigy is more geared toward gamers while the Revolution is audiophile/gamer/HTPC.

In a world ware mp3s are thought of as ?cd quality? to the populous, what do you think the chances of mass market supporting higher quality sound... the people just don?t know any better. Heck HDTV wouldn?t be coming if it weren?t federally mandated.

Just bought one and installed it the other day. Replaced my aging SB Platinum. The SB Live Platinum is going into my son's pc. He received a Klipsch 5.1 Pc speaker setup from me for Christmas. That system is awesome.

My son's computer still has a SB Live Value that was bought because the Monster locked up the P3 system (VIA chipset🙁)

 
Audigy? Hah! Game Theater XP. Amazing for $90. Not to mention it will work w/ old VIA southbridges.
And...MP3s can be 'CD' quality, you just have to use higher bitrates 🙂....which means I am going through re-ripping what is now 24GB at 128

(actually though, since I don't have such a soundcard...it will be my 3rd next purchase (mouse, HD and soundard), I didn't notice all the muddiness and errors in my MP3s till I got a good MP3 CD player and headphones).

This thread is intended for Audigy2 owners to tell abotu their experience and not about your game theatre XP or whatver card you ahve. 🙂

128k is FAR from CD quality. I know many people that refuse to download an MP3 if it wasn't created with VBR and 192k minimum in LAME with --r3mix. Exact Audio Copy is a must also...

And then technically anything that is created from a CDs source other than a bit-for-bit perfect copy is going to loose quality and not be CD quality.
 
My audigy is running strong and I love it... been stable in 2 machines and it still goes

I have an Audigy 2 on order. I am going to put it into my Asus A7N8X and not use the nForce sound. The integrated sound on this board is fine, I just don't like the way it plays midi files. I should have the Audigy by Wednesday. Can't wait.
 
Updatesssss............

I've been playing Wc3 and Fifa2k3 with this card in and I have to say that the sound is incredible. Playing Mp3 is pleasant on this card. The hisses are very minimal and the clarity......dayummmmm.....................🙂

Time for some CS. 😀

Enable the clean-up features in the EAX control panel to minimize the hissing. 🙂
