Wow you weren't kidding about the first one being the hardest over 930,000,000 and still not one DP! :Q

Wow! B:Qggle! You guys sure know how to answer a request for help in this team!

I would offer that ECCp is important enough to your team standings that I'm glad there
were some offers of help :)

On a smaller scale, my own team is well below AT for sure, at #13 or so, and we are
already talking smack to the two teams above us :) They are WAY above us I might add
but we will hunt them down :D

Our goal is to be in the top 10 before all is said and done in ECCp, and I wish our pleas for
help in our team were met with the response I've seen from AT! I've said it many times before,
but you guys never cease to amaze me...you are GREAT! :)

switched over a k6-2 500Mhz
seti wont miss it much, as it takes over a day to process a wu :p
I will probably install it on my laptop as soon as I get addicted to eccp stats ;)

Also added an Athlon XP 1600+ to the cause.

I was amazed at how well ECCP gets along with Seti. They share the idle CPU time well and I haven't lost a lot of time on each Seti WU.

Plus, I've already gotten 60 DP since yesterday. Very cool

Can you post some times so I can see the differences, if it doesn't effect it too much then I will probably run it on most of the fleet :)

I discovered this as well. My IPS was a bit low, and I discovered I was accidentally running it at the same time as SETI@Home, yet not one complaint from the system. :Q

I am investigating the amount of time it takes for a Seti WU to complete when ECCP is running.

I checked my SetiQ and it shows that the WU times for my XP 1600+ since I installed ECCP are around 4 hours. This is about the same amount of CPU time that I was getting before I installed ECCP.

However, here's the kicker. It appears the amount of "real-world time" has doubled for completing a Seti WU. In my SetiQ, the amount of time between WUs received from my Athlon XP 1600+ machine is more than 8 hours. This 8 hour gap happened twice since I have installed ECCP. However, on another Athlon XP 1600+ without ECCP installed, the time between WUs is about 4 hours (this is normal).

I am currently tracking a WU that started on my ECCP/Seti Athlon 1600+. It started around 9:30 EST so it should complete around 1:30 this afternoon. I will verify that this is the case. If not, I may reconsider the whole ECCP/Seti thing if ECCP is in fact "doubling" my Seti times.

Can anyone else confirm this behaviour?

EvilWobbles, that is what I would assume it would do...
Seti IS getting only half of the cpu.. and cpu time isnt real world time, it's just how much of the cpu it actually used.. if a process runs at 50% cpu for 1 hour it's only used 30 minutes cpu time

That is exactly what is happening. I'm going to keep ECCP on my PIII 550 but I am pulling it off my Athlon XP 1600+ because that is my main Seti cruncher!

<< We here at ECCP are having a tough time holding out rank.
All the other teams use floating teams to help out DC projects.
We were wondering if you could lend us a bit of your awsome firepower to move up again.
Any little bit would be welcome!!

:);):D:);):D

Thanx for your time!!!

As soon as my race is over I'll try ECCP on a couple of my machines. Should be within 3-4 days.
