I kinda like this ECCP, since it takes very good advantage of my AMD ......very nice
too bad it doesn't last much longer...
Since we aren't really having a race with this one (that i know of)
I have made my own team and moving up in the ranks very quickly

DeathLiRE,

We're trying to keep up with TechIMO and finish in 3rd place.

We're also trying to avoid being passed by ArsTechnica Team Vodka Martini.

I hope you consider our plea for help and assistence by joining forces with us on ECCp-109.

Thanking in advance

:D

as soon as i get in the attic and run some more cat5e to my p3 500 ill have it running eccp, and depending on how SETI is doing, i might switch over another p3 600 and celery 533. not sure if i would pull my main rig off seti though. its an AMD XP 1800+ @1.667

***good excuse to get up in the attic been putting it off.

Added a Duron 900MHz to the ECCp cause today. I will have to see where else I can grab a little more power :)

I've a dualie PII-400 running Linux that I may switch over after the MTR is finished this weekend.

Will the Linux client play nice with a proxy?

If you look at MereMortal's daily eccp stats, you can see how dire the situation is for the ECCp TeAm... we are right now ahead of ars technica, but they are currently outproducing us atleast 4 to 1 (if I read the stats right)
the dutch power cows are currently number one, then theres team weazy, techimo, and we are fourth... but we will lose that spot soon to ars technica...
I urge all seti and rc5 TeAmmates to consider helping the ECCp project... even if you don't divert any of your current fleet.. if there is some machine you have been thinking of assimilating, please consider assimilating it for ECCp
apparently we used to be number 1 in ECCp(I think I saw that somewhere, someone correct me if I'm wrong) and now we are about to be pushed down to 5th :\
We can't stand for that TeAm mates... we are TeAm AnandTech and we must overcome ;) Those running strictly SETI... may not be aware of how much they could help with ECCp... the SETI team is definately massive....I am taking leave of SETI for now, because my fleet is down to three machines, and after having a month or more of 25+ wu days... I felt a little inadequate for seti... but with ECCp I know I can make a difference, and I am already up to something like position 97 on the team...
anyways I'll stop rambling now :p

Edit: forgot team weazy

Zeruty,

Actually we are about to be pushed to fifth. There is DPC, Techimo and Team Weazy ahead of us now and Ars is knocking on our backdoor. So the situation is more dire than we thought. I have done exactly what you have suggested I haven't moved any of my existing Seti fleet, however I assimilated a P3 750 Laptop and a Duron 900 for ECCp and I am looking for more. I think if everyone from Seti lends a hand just as you suggest by making their next assimilation for ECCp we will start moving back up in the rankings. :)

I wasn't looking at the stats when I typed that, I was going from incorrect memory :p

Cheesemoo,

Are you running the latest optimized client?

Because I'm getting those numbers with my Athlon ThunderBird 1.33, you should be clocking almost 110.000 interactions per second.

Check the installation dir for a file called cygwin1.dll and copy it to the \WINDOWS\System32 folder.

oooppppsssss

...you only need that dll if you're using the StatsAholic ECCp clients...

I've deleted the dll from the System32 folder and restarted the client and it's doing the same Interactions per Second

Sorry about that

Cheesemoo (and others new to the project)

The number of iterations/second you get depends on several factors:

First, how much other stuff you have running in the background eating up your resources (such as AV apps, firewalls, etc)

Second, the priority at which you run the client (low, medium, high). (If you actually want to use your computer to do other things, then I suggest low.)

Third, which client you are using. One of the very nice things about ECCp is that it is an open source project. There have been a number of people who have worked on improving the clients, and there are therefore a few unofficial clients that are faster than the ones from the ND ECCp site. The changes generally end up making their way into the official clients, but it takes time and Chris Monico is extremely busy right now.

It would take me a while to list all of the unofficial clients. Instead, just have a look here for the most complete listing that I'm aware of. You might even recognize a few names. ;)

If you have any other questions please post them or shoot me a PM.

------------

nagger,

The client finds the cywin dll if it is in your eccp folder. This dll is needed for the windows clients that were compiled in a linux environment via Cygwin---namely Ken_g6's clients and the stasaholic clients.
