ATTN: Hipsters. if your thin/scrawny pale. A lumberjack beard looks bad on you.

The big Lumberjack beard does not look good on you, it makes you look like an emaciated person who was stuck in an island surviving on berries and insects.

Chicks will not dig it.

Lumberjack beard only looks good if you have the specific facial features/body that it would be appropriate for.

Otherwise I recommend removing it. Guy on the left a good example of what not to do.

I am fat guy, have had beard since 1996 when I was 16. I used to keep medium to long beard with short hair, now I have long hair and a short to medium beard. I was once mistaken for Richard Stallman. I dont know if thats good or bad. Probably bad since hes almost twice my age.

All hipsters look awful in every piece of hipster uniform. That's the point, they're monumentally unattractive people who are trying to look even worse intentionally so they can pretend their lack of physical appeal is done ironically.

Beards work fine on fat guys. Muscular guys can pull it off too. It's guaranteed to make you look much older than you are though.

Attention OP: Your opinion is subjective.

OP please post a picture of yourself, so we can see who is throwing rocks in glass houses.

in 1996, it was beneficial as I was 16 and wanted to go to shows, many of which were 18+ or 21+. Saw a 21+ Manowar show that was quite comical and awesome. Also being able to buy beer was a plus at 16 though I didnt really start drinking until I was 18 and living on campus, away from home.

Not sure which hipster style is worse: the lumberjack beard, or the slicked back hair that's shaved at the sides.
