ahh, but there is a way to do it with your phone so that it sends a txt message to your handset, on verizon it was #646 (aka #min),

nah.. the only other way is to call 611 and navigate your way to the minutes used menu

Well, on my Nokia, if you go Menu > Call Log > Call Timers, there's a list including the duration of your last call, the total duration of your dialed and received calls, the duration of all your calls together, and the life timer, which shows how many hours the phone has ever been used.
I know this isn't what you're looking for, but that's all I found. I'll ask my mom -- she used to work with Cingular.
