damn i hate almost everything about Biden, seems like voting for him is just another step backwards because it sure as shit isn't a step forward, all that being said, a human body kept alive by ventilators is a better choice than trump.

But it is a step forward from where we are right now. That's the trick. Was it a step forward in 2016? No. But in 2020, where we've regressed as a country dozens of years and lost so much, we need to get back to a baseline (2016) and that's Biden. Post Biden, we can start to move forward. Win the moderates and keep dragging them more and more forward every election cycle until the GOP is nothing but a footnote in history lessons.

it's a step forward now because all we have been doing for the last 4 years is running backwards, it's still a step backwards from 2016, it's just that the moron in charge is so god damn aweful

I'm just curious what you guys want for the country? The economy has been decent to good. Healthcare is a mess anyway you look at it. Until you get the crooks (Dem and rep)out of office nothing will change regarding healthcare. It's not people having to pay for healthcare it's the companies charging enormous amounts of money for pills or whatever because they can. Or an overnight hospital stay costing in the tens of thousands. Medicare for all does nothing but take from a large pool and spreads it across those actually working and paying taxes. I doubt any of us actually see any savings from it.

Where do you think we are in the world in terms of spending on health care? Both in total and per capita? Where do you think we are in the world in terms of outcomes?

Are there actually many "bros" in these forums? I may have seen one or two who wouldn't vote for Biden if it wasn't Bernie. I was a heavy Bernie backer but I also have a brain. Biden sucks but Trump sucks more. And besides, with Bernie's endorsement, he may persuade Biden to move slightly left on a few issues. I'll take that. At this point, beggars can't be choosers.

At the bare minimum,
1. I want to be able to present to my Scout Troop examples of effective speaking skills. I want to be able to show youth a fucking press conference without having to explain "Thats not the way to do it and this is an abnormal time"
- This is easily solved by not voting for a moron for president

2. I want to be able teach civics without having to explain to them to not use the current government as an example of effective government.
- This is easily solved by not voting for a moron for president

3. I want to stop the republican party from getting us entrenched in another regional conflict for decades.
- This requires a coordinated effort by Journalists and individuals within the legislative branch to stand up against specifc lobbyist groups with a lot of sway.

4. I want to stop the democratic party from caving in to Republican demands to be "tough" and get us involved in dick measuring contests with third world dictators.
- This requires brave people to step up and run for office.

5. Fuck corporate christian evangelicalism and it corrosive effect on America society. I want an executive branch that rejects that culture that seeks to oppress based on twisted interpretations of a centuries year old 4chan re-write of a compilation of arab folk tales. I want an executive branch that constantly reinforces the fact that it represents all citizens within the country and favors no single group.
- This is easily solved by voting for someone with a basic understanding of constitutional law and ethics.

6. I want the return of Science in government.
- I don't need to explain this.

7. I want the return of career specialists in government.
- I don't need to explain this.

8. I want people in government who understand that government cannot be run like a business.
- I don't need to explain this.

9. I want people in government who understand that politics serve the people and not their party. SCREW EVERY MORON who has the inkling of "both sides" . The GOP is the guilty party here.
- I don't need to explain this.

10. I want important defense contracts to not have their timeless screwed around with because republicans want to move things up for political purposes. Nor do I want programs put in place to serve as a cash cow to congressional districts.
- Complicated topic and will result in a wall of words I don't have bandwidth for today.

11. I want a government that communicates and acts in a manner that honors the concept of "equal protections under the law"
- Holy crap I should not even have to explain this.

12. I want a single payer health system and I don't care if its fast path or slow path. I want constant movement towards single payer.
- Not interested in explaining the difference in health care systems, what a single payer system is or wasting time reading mindless talking points from the foxnews idiots. It's my answer.

13. I want a return to celebrating our system. Not some damn hero worship of individuals.

14. - I could go on and on and on...but I have work to do

I saw this Tweet and think it's probably mostly right. Sanders supporters are coping with their loss by insisting that Biden can't win, and Biden supporters are coping with their support of such an awful person by insisting on the morality of their position. A sad state of affairs for both camps.

Kamala Harris was supposed to be the standard bearer until Gabbard took her out, and them Bloomberg was going to be the savior until Warren took him out, so now we’re stuck with Biden because apparently the ideas that Democrats used to champion were just too scary.

There are "Bernie Bro's" on this forum.
They just don't want to admit that they might vote for Trump because of their stupidity due to the ridicule they will receive

Do not confuse that with people who are just really upset the Sanders is done and will never be more than a Senator.

lol Obama endorses Biden only after EVERY SINGLE candidate has dropped out.

You would think after working with someone for 8 years as a VP you would have had more confidence in them ahead of time eh?

Oh well, another 4 years of the Turd Sandwich here we come!

I think part of the reason people are upset is that if Biden wins, then presumably he'll be the candidate in 2024, and then (win or lose) we'll most likely get another GOP individual for 4-8 years, so that's a long time before we get to even try to make actual progress. That's a tough pill to swallow for the people that actually need help with all the flaws being highlighted by the current crisis.

Or maybe Obama has integrity and didn’t think it appropriate to endorse anyone while it was still a contest. How could you not realize that?

I highly doubt that Biden wants to run in 2024. More likely that he grooms his VP for a run. He’s an old dude and he knows it.

I'm just curious what you guys want for the country?

A fully funded and realized social safety net. Basic Income and Federal Housing Loan program. Together, these programs would effectively end the concept of foreclosure or eviction for monetary reasons for the bottom half (likely more) of Americans. No more individual pain or separation of families from economic downturns. Protecting the well being of every American needs to be our #1 priority.

He's just selling Republican propaganda. Hence the Obama / Biden hate.

"He endorsed him SO late!" <-- Talking point, zero substance.

Just what every other sane country in the world has yet is unattainable in the USA because of their love of capitalism and fygm?

As much as I wish it was Bernie, Biden is amazing in comparison to our Dear Leader who has killed 23,711 of us as of this morning and is getting ready to kill another ~500,000 of us starting May 1st. Of course I'll be voting Biden and straight-ticket Democrat.

This pandemic has illustrated clear as day how morally bankrupt conservatism is. I can't stomach that our president is about to kill hundreds of thousands of us because all he and McConnell and the rest of the GOP give a fuck about is protecting capital.

You do realize that by doing that it completely negates the entire point (and concept) of endorsing someone?

No, of course you didn't realize that. You're too busy valiantly defending anyone with a D next to them.

I'll bet you a blowjob that his intention was to support the nominee all along. It's what a cautious person with critical thinking skills would do which has been a foreign concept during the last 3 years. They know their input is important so they don't make their decision lightly.
