Who is in tonight & what time(s)? I'm starting to get the hang of this. I rocked out at a stationary AA gun last night on some German server. Flares won't save you from a wall of lead...hahaha.....

Had a few good rounds with people from the forums screwing around on Kharg Island this morning. I had such a good score I had to stick around so it saved, and ended up being late for work lol.

Oh, by the way, feel free to add me. Vulgar_Display on battlelog.

To everyone on the server this morning that was learning to fly I highly recommend you start using third person view for flying except when you are about to start firing your weapons.

Does anyone know if higher FOV's have any effect on your in cockpit view? I like my infantry FOV set to 75, but if I get higher fov inside a jet I may want to increase that.

I like flying in third person but keep in mind if you ever switch over to hardcore mode you usually are limited to 1st person mode.

Yeah so I figured out that FOV has no effect in jet cockpits at the moment. Which explains the very narrow tunnel of vision you get. They really need to fix that. It's so stupid not being able to see anything in the jet which basically forces you to use third person. You can't even really follow people through turns because you lose sight of them so quickly.

Two things:

We banned our first hacker yesterday. Awesome - fuck that guy.

Also: the minimum number of players to start a round is now 1 - go in there and practice your flying.

Thanks - let's keep this s*** clean!

I'm going to go in and goof around on the choppers/jets today, as long as no one takes pot shots at me!

I created a second AnandTech platoon:

I'm really craving a BF3 experience where the people in my squad and I use voice to communicate. What time are you folks on the Mumble server, or is it the in-game VoIP that's being used here?

Even on the AT server, no one has used voice. I'd want to use it with some people as I have a good headset with a good mic.

Yeah, I saw that last night... I was the person that killed him last before you banned him - I was sneaking up on him about to knife him but instead chose to shoot him... I guess the AIM hack only works when you push the fire button? I was wondering how come he didn't turn right away and shoot me...

What is everyone using to fly? The mouse and keyboard and a controller?

I'm curious about this as well. The heli is great with the keyboard and mouse but I avoid jets like the plague. I have an xbox controller hooked up for Dirt, I assume that would work for flying?

I've used both my xbox controller and my saitek joystick. Helicopter is way better with a stick than k/b. I don't know how people do that. Stick is good for jet too. Xbox controller is perhaps a bit more precise but not as much fun as stick. One thing that might be easier with a mouse is aiming the guns in jets. Fine movement is not the strength of sticks.

Just make sure you plug it in before starting game. Won't register if you plug it in after loading up.

I use a Saitek x52 joystick.
I, as well as many others judging by the number of posts on the forums, have been having issues with the game dropping my keybinds randomly between games. Obviously, I only notice it on my first flight in a round, when my controls don't work and I have to edit keybinds while flying around at the mercy of gravity and enemy bullets lol.
Another bug DICE will hopefully fix soon...

I use keyboard and mouse... I normally crash when I try to do some crazy flying or trying to help my teamates take out some tanks - there are too much of those tall tower thingys in some maps...

I'm waiting to pick up this joystick when it becomes available on AMAZON recommended by Gully Foyle:
