How much does the AT server cost a month?
I was only able to get to play on the AT server for a little while last night. It was always full.
Anyway we could get a reserved seat? Donations or something?
Back to the server, how can you find your ping? Mine are always blank for every server.
I think they fixed it for Firefox, ~2 nights ago it suddenly started showing up for me.A fiend of mine had this issue. Switching from Firefox to Google Chrome browser fixed it.
Alternatively, try running the browser as an Admin.
To check ping while in game, I heard Alt-Ctrl-A showed the ping in the beta. I haven't tested it in retail yet.
Stupid server stupid crashed. What was happening when it went down?

Last night I saw lots of people in Parties, but no one on the Mumble server except Nizology. It's been that way the last few times I joined.
Is it because you don't want to load Mumble (was new for me), or are just too shy?
Is there a better way to organize the Mumble server, besides US and Russians, since the game switches you between teams often?
Would it attract more people if you had the ability to create channels on the fly (not sure that it doesn't, ATM)?
I know it's kind of slow, but I still think text chat is pretty effective for some things within a squad (and I was using that with you last night Gully, before I crashed).
For one thing, we were on opposing teams since we joined a server as a huge party, which is one of the drawbacks I initially saw with Mumble, and secondly, because the voice isn't associated with the player's names on the screen, you actually can't tell who's talking.
I agree, this is one of the worst parts. I like having a lot of people on voice so we can coordinate.. but not being able to tell who is talking sucks!

Heh, we were talking about this last night on the party chat. Problem #1: the Mumble server was never prominently advertised in this thread. Problem #2: it's hard to match channels to teams, much less squads.Last night I saw lots of people in Parties, but no one on the Mumble server except Nizology. There were about 8 of us in a party voice chat. So to some extent, the various out-of-game VOIP options are competing.
I'd say that unless others see a strong need for the Mumble server, JSchmuck could probably skip it next month to save money.
That being said, even the party voice feature leaves a lot to be desired. For one thing, we were on opposing teams since we joined a server as a huge party, which is one of the drawbacks I initially saw with Mumble, and secondly, because the voice isn't associated with the player's names on the screen, you actually can't tell who's talking. That's pretty problematic until (well, if) we actually start to recognize each other's voices.
