Yeah, I gathered that. But humor me... Lets take my field of view. I am looking at a building with all 16 windows on my screen. The building is dark inside, so I actually can't see a guy hiding in window 12. However, since my screen is pointed there, when I tap the 'Q' key it reveals his position to me. Is this incorrect? Because I am pretty sure that is how it was working for me last night.

It will only spot things that are pretty much within your crosshairs, meaning you can't just look in one direction and hit Q and it will spot everyone on your screen. You have to be pointed at them...

I think it's somewhere in between. I have definitely had Q reveal enemies. I also have pointed straight at a jet and had to tap it 5 or 6 times to spot it.

I think once Q becomes more common place it will make moving around the open spots of a map very difficult. I love flying and having targets spotted for me.

When spotting, there are several things that need to be 'checked off' in order for the spot to work. This includes distance, how much of the enemy is visible, etc.

And yes, having people spot things while flying is so crucial.

Remove Kharg Island Rush from the rotation. Like, now. That crap is retarded. No one can even get remotely close to the first MCOM.

I have won on that map in rush as the attacker, and gotten close tot he end numerous times. It just requires a team that plays as a team.

Jschmuck2: I would like to see Tehran HWY removed from the rush rotation however. It has the same issues the conquest map has regarding horrible rubber banding.

They kept spotting in to keep people from getting frustrated from snipers. In hardcore mode which has spotting turned off you'll have snipers that hide in remote corners of the map picking people off and they'll sit there the entire game because no one can find them. In BF2 spotting only put a dot on the minimap, which would be preferable imho.

i really like playing on this server. its kinda cool to see names i know from here. except zakhail. cause he's always killing me, lol.

I've enjoyed playing on the server a ton, and I appreciate everything the admins are doing to keep it up and running. Everyone seems to be really on top of the feedback concerning lag/rubberbanding.

I don't think I know your origin name Hotfries. Sometimes I'll notice if i get someone a few times in a row. I don't usually go after people that kill me unless I think they're a threat to a particular location or team mates, then I try to root them out. Feel free to add me on Origin.

I need to get in on ATOT servers. Damn I am having my shit handed to me every round, its been years since BF2 and it shows. I miss not having the ability to run my own server just so I can get to know the maps.

need a few more friends, origin name is: gr0hl (thats a zero)

Oh! Yea I do remember shooting at you a lot at the Grand Bazaar. The first set of mcoms on rush there can be so packed with fighting over a few feet of space, I can't even imagine that place with 64 players.

How do you join a member of the AT Squad?

Have you friended people listed on the first page of this thread? If so, you can find them in your "COM center" on battlelog. You just click "join" on one of them - it will say what server they are on.

Also, if you haven't already been invited to the Anandtech platoon, I think a number would be able to send you an invite. What's your Origin name?

Jschmuck -

I was thinking it would be helpful to add both Origin names and forum names to the first post - the Origin names are there, but a lot of us ended up having to pick a name that was different from our forum name.

I know it's a ton of work to update, though...should we all repost our names with both names in the post, like this, so you can just cut and paste?

Termie - Termie_G (Origin)

Good idea - it'll be hell getting everyone to repost. When I have some downtime this week, I'll go through and put it in :)

I spot distant snipers with my IR scope so that our snipers can take them out even though my carbine can't at that range. Teamwork FTW.

^ LOL... I do the same thing too...

the only two negative things about IR Scope is that in a server with no names above a players head you can't distinguish friend or foe and when some shine a flashlight on you its worst to your view...:\

Yes, but my main complaint with it thus far is that someone can be entrenched in an area where realisticly no one would be able to see him. But someone hits the the 'Q' key and then puts an icon giving away their position. Sure, I mean, I don't like campers, but I do find it a bit silly to be able to give someone's position away even though you don't actually see them (with your eyes naturally)

The purpose of spotting is to communicate the position of an enemy. If voice worked, this wouldnt really be needed. I would prefer 3D spotting, as just ducking down doesnt change the fact that you would have said he is behind that rock, or in that building.

Maybe a better way would be spotting an area, which doesnt go away for like 10 sec. So you can communicate to your team that someone is in the area, and the person can leave the area if he chooses. But between the BFBC2 and BF3 spotting, I would prefer BFBC2.

I think the spotting system is perfect, I have no complaints. I just wish the minimap was more legible like old battlefield's.

PS add me to the list - QuantumPion

Same as here Fanatical Meat, I can't remember if there is an underscore.

Keeping track of names is too hard. Just friend off the Platoon member list.
