Why? because it spins everything to fit the left wing... sure there are a few small right wingers here, but overall the majority spin it to the left, in order to fit their bias...
I say we close it down because it is obstructing the truth, we should cancel the forum because
ATPN is a propaganda machine designed to brainwash and create outrage, or mass following. It is creating psychotic monsters, not wise voters.
Why should we allow a cancer like this to grow?
The problem with these you left wing, leftie, etc threads is that conservatives have defined any one left of Ronald Reagan as left wing.
The same applies to the other side. Both tend to put "center" a little bit away from themselves.
If we use the election as the metric, we find that the country is more or less evenly divided on the choice of party. That's not really accurate though, because the partisans might take that as a mandate for whoever wins. It is not. It's a choice between two people, not an agreement with their philosophies. Consider that McCain's greatest opposition wasn't Obama, it was Bush. Obama won because Bush and his frankly sucked. Now if the Right want's to debate this I can back it up without devolving into a rant. Obama won because he was furthest from Bush.
Now the partisans on the left aren't much different. Like the Right they demand action for their agenda and expect that we take it, thank you very much. I'll cite health care as an example. They back a government option and regulation without knowing just what it is they are going to get. Like Iraq, it's "good for the country". Well it might be, but the Dems decided to legislate in advance of telling us (if they even know) just what their plan would be, and I mean specifics. Oh sure there are thousands of pages that they themselves don't understand, and certainly the ramifications of whatever they are putting out are about as clear as mud, but we have to have this because someone in Germany is getting health care that they might not here. Get something in place and then we can make it what we want. Like that's ever happened.
In the end it's the zealots on both sides that don't stop to consider just what fruits their labor will bear. Oh they are good at pointing out the short comings of the opposition. Some are very good at using lots of words to justify why the public need to be led like sheep.
In the end, they want control over someone else, rather than letting people control themselves. They'll take Iraq or health care because it's good, and you need to take it, up the rectum if necessary.
They'll point out examples of things which have no bearing on reality and say "that's what we need" without mentioning that that's not what their party is going to give you.
They substitute political wrangling and hyperbole for considered thought.
They want control because they are superior to you. You (Americans as large) are a vast herd of unwashed animals waiting to be "educated".
Well, many people ARE ignorant. Many people DO believe things which are incorrect. Well we have the zealots on both sides to thank for that.
Who is most at fault? On the internet it's determined mostly by the Lords of the Fly rule, which I define as the biggest dog pile.
Again considering the number of left vs right threads here, for the moment it leans left. If that bothered me a great deal I could ah heck off, but no. "ists" have a right to be heard. It would just be nice if people understood which way things lean as a whole.
