I don't know if you can see my older results, but my goal from the start has always been to finish the fastest, regardless of score. I had one day when the submit button didn't register and it took a couple minutes until I realized it, but other than that I don't think I've ever taken more than 40-something to finish, usually in the 30's.

If I don't know the answer immediately, I'll guess and move on. Not a real good system for high scores, though. :)

Kind of. Faith Hill's father-in-law is a former major league pitcher.

I'm sorry - did you want to be the one to answer oogabooga's question, or are you talking about something else? ;)

Here's a secret for speed:

After you click on the first answer, use the keyboard. <TAB> moves you to the next question, arrows switch choices. (and I think you have to hit the space bar... I can't remember for sure.)

I the other contest I play daily, we had a day with near impossible questions. As usual, most of the players had between 50 and 100 seconds. I finished in 8 seconds and had 3 correct - good enough for 2nd place that day. (someone had 4 correct in something like 110 seconds). First place taught me the trick and did it in 5 seconds.

I love the "literature" category. A large majority of the questions are either Stephen King or Harry Potter. I've never read either, so i'm lucky to get 1 or 2. Can't wait to see the harder levels of the lit category. lol.

So you can read the questions and go find the answers and THEN the timer starts when you answer the first question?

Wow...that's pretty much cheating.

You misunderstood him. The timer starts as soon as you enter the game by clicking on the "play now" link (or whatever it's called). He just didn't read the questions when he did it in like 5 seconds or whatever. just randomly answered questions because they were insanely hard.

DrP, is there any way you could increase the level of difficulty for the rest of the month? I thought that's what you had said you were going to do at the beginning of this month -- little by little.

I'm not going to win so that's not why I'm asking. It's just kinda lame when it's a competition of who can tab and hit their space bar the fastest.
