It's just one thing after another for me. So Sunday evening, I'm enjoying a hot Philly. I haven't had one for a while. Been working out a lot. Anyways, to get back to the story, I went and got more diet soda and proceeded to dump the glass of soda all over my desktop. The runoff goes right into the keyboard that sitting in my keyboard tray. FML.
Needless to say, the keyboard would not work right away. The next day, the keyboard seemed to be working again. But there's a lot of double characters when pushing only one key. There must be all sorts of shorts.
So, I'm pulling out my old keyboards. I see this box and it says Cherry keyboard. I'm like, all right! It's my old Cherry keyboard. I go to hook it up. I hear the familiar sound from my speakers telling me that device is hooked up. Then, I heard the familiar sound from my speakers tell me that the device has unhooked itself. Repeat ad nauseam. FML
Turns out this was the second Cherry keyboard that my late boy cat chewed. I forgot that I had to get rid of my first one. He had chewed through the cable and I was able to get a replacement cable from a dude on Geekhack.
The actual first keyboard I came across, was my old Compaq keyboard... a p/s2 keyboard. I'm sure I got a dongle somewhere... And then I found my original cherry keyboard box. I opened it up and there it was! My original Intel keyboard. I used to love that thing. But it was a spongy rubber dome keyboard. I'm sure I'm just holding on to it for nostalgia. Some of the keys weren't working when I replaced it with my first mechanical switch keyboard.
I guess I'm going to add to the pile of malfunctioning keyboards. It was such a nice keyboard. I'm going to work on attempting to take a shot and flush it with tap water. It'll either work or not. I've already ordered a newer and better keyboard. Still sucks that today was the day.
And I've come down with a virus. My manager kept telling him everyone that she had allergies. So I told one of the other managers that I got her allergies over the weekend. FML
