Cats are so funny how they can be stubborn. My orange cat who loves his kibble has been deprived of it to some extent, since I need to feed my black cat a specific wet food diet while trying to figure out his diarrhea issue and it's just easier to give them both the same food.

So sometimes if the moment is right I will try to sneak some kibble to my orange cat so he can have some. Normally he'd run to the bowl and devour the whole thing, but nope, he doesn't even budge, so the black cat ends up getting into it when he's not suppose to. With all that I also need to give him a pill twice a day and he keeps spitting it out, that's been fun. lol. I don't even know if he got any of the medication yet. There are times where I thought he swallowed it then I find it on the floor later on all mushed up.

Are you using a pill popper? I would get so pissed whenever they threw a pill up.

Pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onion, black olives, (my own) tomato sauce, fresh whole milk mozzarella.

I don't have one but might have to get one. I just kind of shove it in his mouth and hold his mouth shut while petting him and he usually appears to swallow it since I check his mouth and don't see it anymore. Thankfully he's pretty chill in general though, he's mildly annoyed at me when I do that but he doesn't really put up much of a fight.

You described your cats as finding a way to throw it up when you're not paying attention. That's the way they do it. You use the pill Popper to shoot it back past their tongue and into their throat then you hold their mouth shut and back until they swallow it and you can usually tell. But trust me. Get a pill popper. But I was giving both cats pills twice a day. Yeah I'm not doing the putting one in their mouth and trying to get it to go down.

Neat, Ryobi makes a 18v submersible pump now, think that's new. Been thinking about how I want to go about pumping lake water, was going to use a drill pump but this will work better.

How far is the lake? Maybe a solar driven incline bucket convayor up to a water tower and gravity feed to your cabin area
