How far is the lake? Maybe a solar driven incline bucket convayor up to a water tower and gravity feed to your cabin area

It's like 5km away so I'd be trucking the water in with an IBC tote. Although I might make a water trailer using one or two 55 gal drums that I can haul with the ATV. Then it would get pumped into the tower. Long term goal is to have a large pool where rain water and water I truck in gets dumped into, and then it gets pumped through the filtration process before going to the tower. Probably do slow sand filtration, various membrane filters, UV and then RO as the last stage. I'd get the water tested to determine how far I need to go, as if I can skip RO that would be better to avoid so much waste. But for now I just want water that I can use for washing, mixing concrete etc. For potable water I'll just bring it from town for now.

You should have a grey water system as well, the waste water from RO can go to that tank and you can flush toilet or water plants with that water.

in 2019 I made a rant thread on the Canadian Tire sub about how shitty the website is to see if others feel the same frustration. I STILL get the odd reply on it of people who do, and the site STILL sucks lol. I don't find browsing it is so bad anymore but when you go to order it's super glitchy. It's funny how some companies just can't bother making a decent site and don't really care.

Some guy just swapped out his 5950X for a 5800 X3D. Is it really worth the time and cost just to get a few more FPS?

It's his time/money

I am still on 3700X and don't see a need to upgrade.
You're exhausting. If I wanted to hear "it's my money" I would have asked him. It sounds like a pointless swap. Now, if he had a 3700X, and his board supported the 5800X3D, that would be a good upgrade. But to switch out the 5950X for a 5800X3D is a downgrade, except for gaming and even that is meager. Then there is the work involved and selling your 5950X for peanuts just for a few FPS.

You don't know if he just bought a used 5800x3d to replace the 5950x. Obvioulsy ypu'll lose some money to ebay and shipping. I think it is a pointless exercise as well. But he obviously has a different opinion.
