Finished repairing my home server on Tuesday. Reimaged my OS drive on Tuesday. All but two drives were detected when I finally reconnected them. Took a second look at them today. They were my movie drives. Both are power disable enterprise drives. I thought I had done a work around to get them to spin up. Upon closer inspection I found that the molex to SATA power adapter was disconnected. 🫤

I need to dust off all my servers, now that my server room is mostly enclosed. Still need to do crawlspace side, then add a small door to get to crawlspace. Once it's fully enclosed I will have better dust control in there. There will be a vent to draw in cold air from the garage crawlspace going through a hepa filter. Ideally, that fan won't need to run all that often but it will be there in case it's needed. Probably put it on a thermostat and have a set point of like 20C in there or something.

Kind of cool that this is actually, a real room now. Not just studs. I put roxul insulation in the walls too, really cuts down on noise. Going to avoid sanding in here as much as I can when I plaster the walls so I might experiment with textured walls.

Did you upgrade your HDDs? I remember you saying you had all these small drives.
