Been working on relaunching my old forum... for way longer than I'd want to admit. Well it's finally almost ready now. Mostly testing stuff in the live environment now before I launch it. Hoping to do that before Christmas. It's probably going to stay dead... but at least I can say I finished that project.

One of my chestnut trees died so I'm going to try to grow some new ones.

I'm going to start 2 indoors and if they develop a decent layer of bark, I'll plant them in March or April.

For another 2, I'm going to drill the stump and try to grow them from there. Got a 1" by 12" auger for that job.

It was never a very big tree. The stump isn't circular but roughly 8" across. So I might hollow out the stump completely. I'm guessing that should give the new roots a clean shot to the ground. And this time I'm putting out food spikes for fruit trees.

In 1942, a German U-boat (probably redundant) showed up in the Hamptons - probably to pick up volunteers.

edit: I know, the official story is that it dropped off 4 saboteurs.

Back at work after four weeks off. Eating and drinking way too much. Sleeping till noon. Up to 3-4 in the morning. Good to get back at it.
