Day 5 at work with almost zero work to do. My employer was hacked last Friday evening. Things got shut down on Saturday and still haven't returned to normal. Easy days, but Wednesday was the worst. So bored. Even got tired of being on my phone. Heard we may not be up by Monday.

What a freaking pain Flash is. I don't know why people insist on using that to make admin interfaces. At least there's basic controls on the front but would be nice to be able to access the web interface since it has more options, but no luck so far. I only managed to keep a few flash installers over the years but it's not the right ones. I recall flash being very picky about versions, like Java, so it probably has to be a super specific version for it to work.

Yay at least it has telnet. Was able to get in that way.

Code:
$ telnet 10.1.9.88
Trying 10.1.9.88...
Connected to 10.1.9.88.

WOW. I thought that was dead along time ago.

Not dead enough, apparently. lol

I asked the company if there is a newer firmware and if they could provide it, I'm already in touch with them for an alarm cable. TBH I'm surprised they even got back to me but they did, so they might actually help. Problem is I probably need to get to the web interface to update the firmware, and no luck so far. I tried to install flash player in a VM but think the install files I have are too new so it won't accept that version.

As a side note kinda cool knowing I own this now though, I've been wanting a -48v rectifier system for like 10 years. :p

I'm such a nerd.

Not bad, 60w power usage with all rectifiers installed, and 1 or 2 is around 30w. No load mind you but still not too bad. They sell high efficiency versions of these rectifiers that are compatible with this shelf. I presume that's why these were so cheap, some telcos probably been upgrading to HE versions.

Next step to buy/setup is power distribution and wiring. Bus bars, breakers etc. I read QO panels actually support DC... I might look into that route, but I can't find the QO DC breakers. i suspect the 120/240v rated ones are DC rated too though but don't want to chance that, Schneider seems to hint at that in the literature but it's not quite clear. They do actually sell DC rated breakers too, just no way to buy straight off their site.

If I go the bus bar route then I can do the same as I did for my shed solar and just use DIN mounted breakers.

I find it depends on what, breakers and other basic stuff like that seem to be reasonable and on par with any other system, but yeah if you get into logic stuff it can get expensive fast. PLCs etc get pretty crazy. You'd think it would be cheaper as it's so common but I guess you pay a price for something that's well established. It's basically industrial lego, with the lego price lol.

Windows XP saves the day!

Managed to get into the web interface with my old work laptop that they never asked to get back. It was a pita though since Firefox kept blocking it and I had to click to allow it then click allow and continue, with a touch pad, and do it fast enough before I get the error.

Ultimately I think telnet is just going to be easier though. This is kind of going to be set and forget once I configure it the way I want.

Weird that it only has a year of cumulative uptime.

And yeah I totally took a picture of the monitor. :p
