I am listening to a radio show and it was a rerun mentioning that ad campaign and I laughed my ass off.

My yard looks like a battlefield, each dandelion is a solider. The field in front of my house looks like an even bigger battlefield, and they're both about to go to war against each other.

Mowed the lawn today with my new battery mower and sold my gas mower for $130. A bit of money to make up for the purchase of the new battery one. It was kinda an expensive purchase that I didn't really NEED but it's kind of nice not needing gas anymore for yard work stuff and I have 4 Greenworks batteries now which will come in handy in the bush with the chainsaw.

Hopefully my foot gets better so I can start working on the property. That kind of put a wrench into my summer. Mowing lawn is extent of physical activity I can do right now, since it involves being on soft ground so it's not as bad on the foot. Ladders and stuff of that nature are going to be out for a while. The pain is right in the part of the foot you'd place on a ladder step or on top of a log/branch etc when walking in the bush.

You're getting old, squirrel. You should sell your property and commence retirement.

Goal was to retire there but with a foot condition it's going to be hard to do any work that needs to be done. So really hope this is not permanent, but everywhere I read says it is. It's genetic too so not much I could have done, but snowshoeing probably aggravated it sooner. Worse case scenario may just have to do cortizone shots. I will ask about that when I go get my orthotics next week. Would be nice to at least be able to get pain relief for the summer so I can get stuff done.

Getting old sucks, dealing with all these weird medical conditions that just randomly show up.
I got my wake up call in time. I am the only one in my family not prediabetic. My sister just had an A1C of 5.7 at 31 years of age. And I suspect that contributed to her poor urine results as well.

Yeah I would probably be prediabetic myself had I not changed my eating and drinking habits. I don't have the perfect diet but it's way better than before. Ironicly I worked at the hospital when I ate at my worst. Vending machines, Tim Hortons and cafeteria made it too convenient to drink/eat sugary stuff. Honestly the cafeteria there actually made pretty good food. Normally institution style cafeterias are mediocre but they had some specials that I made sure never to miss out on when they had them out lol.

Being Asian makes one vulnerable due to cultural habits and biological preference(probably due in part to evolutionary pressure; all the ones who couldn't handle mainlining rice and noodles died off). Heck, the Chinese term of diabetes is from relatively ANCIENT TIMES, as in after the advent of modern agriculture.

Asians don't need to be a great leviathan to be diabetic. Medicare picks a BMI of 23 for Asians to be eligible for diabetic consultations and screenings. That number is not an accident...as both my mother and sister are JUST A HAIR below that magic threshold and are prediabetic. Of course they don't want the prediabetic to "save themselves". Why tell someone to do an oil change to save their car when a busted engine means a new sale for the "companies"? Except...there is no benefit to a heart attack, stroke, dementia, neuropathy, etc happening to a person while a new car can at least provide some service...

"Prediabetes" exists precisely because it doesn't require medical attention at the immediate moment but by leaving people to their own devices, then the money-maker boogeyman for the medical INDUSTRY and even the "scientific industry" manifest themselves. The knowledge that trans fats are bad was paid in blood of at least few 10s of thousands+.

It was pretty obvious as my mom continues to drag in free carbohydrate-rich food ad nauseum(that's cultural habits from saving money and from growing up in times of famine thanks to Mao and the commies) because the "private welfare" here hardly checks and just gives the food out to anyone willing to come take it. So, the likes of bread, cookies, and fucking bananas just keep coming in, with me not eating a single one or just a bite...so sis and mom go about eating up all that sweet stuff.

Diet advice is also compromised by such money-grubbing influence...as the sanctification of certain fruits and "whole grains"(only unprocessed barley, oats, or quinoa would ideally ever be allowed in my life) to be parroted as a "holy food" DOES NOT HELP THE INSULIN RESISTANT.

Heck, I myseld probably have some IR 3 years ago because I remember feeling the "tingling" of neuropathy after some meals but didn't give it major thought.

I'd torture the banana hypers and veggie oil hypers with their own sacred cow. Banana enemas and I'd either set the veggie oil bitches on fire or drown them in that fucking oil.

First badger at our spring nef

Yeah, so watching the video clip from the wildlife cam more carefully, I found something…

The upper oval is the badger. The lower circle is a young bobcat. As there were no follow up videos or miscellaneous cat parts laying around the spring this morning, my guess is the bobcat wasn't stupid enough to try to take the badger.
