Year 2000 was 22 years ago. Always messes with my mind when I realize how far away it is.

I remember in 1999 thinking that 2000 model cars are going to be super futuristic and stuff. Now you barely see cars from that era on the road as they mostly all rusted out beyond repair.

Quality is not one of the hi-tech features they were promoting at the time. In fact with modern materials they could make cars that dont rust or fall apart.
They choose not to.

Yeah I heard they just pick players from each team instead of picking the best players? Seems like an odd way of doing it.

When I was a kid me and my dad used to play NHL 95 and eventually 99 a lot. My dad got super into it, made sure all the trades matched the NHL etc. We'd do a season and play it through. We timed it so the All Star game in the game was played on the same night as the real one, and we let the game play on it's own. The score of the one in our game matched the one on TV. It was a crazy coincidence lol. Either that or the game was more advanced than we figured at predicting the performance of the players.

When I saw they didn't pick Pastrnak, nor Marchand, I knew it was a farce. I probably wouldn't have watched it anyways. They should have just kept it an east/west thing and picked the best players. But with athletes able to opt out and those that play not really playing defense i see no reason to watch a meaningless game.
