Yeah that's the one. Seeing that screenshot brings back nostalgic memories. I used to like just watching the molecules move around.
Not sure you saw this, but there's a comment at the end of the history section mentioning that the UD software was then used by WCG (World Community Grid - run by IBM til this year). Subsequently, WCG jumped on the BOINC train. And guess what? They just happen to have those sleeper screen graphics. Just not always obviously sciency stuff. Check it out and Merry Xmas :)

Some fireworks were just going off. For some color, this the sort of area (but just within a half mile radius) that comes to mind when you think 'bedroom community.' Nope, scratch the cookiecutter mcmansions. Imagine a dead end street with houses built from the early 1900's (at the start) to the more traditional suburban homes we all know and love to the mcmansions at the very end.

The point is, to say the area is 'sedate' is a bit on the understated side. But it doesn't seem anyone has called the cops, so . . . cool.

Sick today. Didn't feel well last night, now it's worse this morning. Sitting at home instead of visiting with family today. BooHoo.

Ouch that sucks.

Sitting at home for most of the day but visiting family around 3-4pm.

Watched the James Webb launch, I'm legit excited about that. Been kind of following it on and off throughout the years, incredible that it's finally in space now.

I invited my African coworker over today. He works two full time jobs and sleeps three hours a night. He needs money to bring over his family. Going to grill some steaks.

If that's not some serious Christmas spirit, I don't know what is. Kudos.

I'm by myself. So, I asked him if he was doing anything for Christmas? He said no. I asked if he was hanging out with any of his African friends. He said I was his friend. I was like, "Alright. Come on over!"

Well, my co-worker left. The food turned out good. The ribeyes were way too thin, but I managed to not cook them until they are overcooked. I will get thicker steaks next time. They looked pretty good in the package.

@Red Squirrel I see that you are having fun with your alternate phone OSes. Not sure why you can't work with Google. Are you overly paranoid? You do the same with Linux. You cause yourself headache after headache trying to get out of the grips of the major software giants. Stuff that just works for the rest of us, you spend countless hours trying to fix issues for. Is it really about privacy or it really about control? That is, you like doing all this stuff.

It's unfortunate but getting decent privacy these days does require work.

I just hate the idea of my own tech being used against me by tech giants for profit, so I do what I can to prevent it as much as possible. Hard to avoid it 100% but where I have control, I do it.

Just wish there were more mainstream options or more demand for it but seems people just don't care about their privacy anymore and just gave in to the dystopia we live in.
