That's a small risk I'm willing to take. Even with insurance it's very hard to fight for coverage as they'll try to point it to something you did wrong. You can't just stop a hobby because you're worried about insurance. There are people that build their own power walls or do even more crazy stuff. Got to live.

yeah, installing a socket, no problem. Building power wall, yeah too risky.

Yeah, so one of the cats got a dingleberry and decided to liberate herself from it under the bed. Our decision to get rid of all carpet paid off once again. It looked like someone mounted a cat butt on a spirograph and went to town under there.

Dropped off the UPS batteries at the county disposal for environmental waste. Picked up some wings. Fired up my late wife's PC and browsed her documents. Not much of value. Kind of disappointed. Did find a few videos that she did with the web cam. Saved those. Then wiped the drive and stuck the PC in storage along with the 29" widescreen monitor.

Lol my cat gets dingleberries sometimes too, I'm partially to blame, because it's usually stuck to one of my hairs. But I also blame her for eating my hair.

Phones back up but network drives still dead, a few apps dead, and internet dead too. (posting this form another network)

This looks like a good trouble for the night shift guy to tackle. 😛

If you were local, this could all be yours!

That's state of the art 90's right there, even has the "smoker's home" yellowing to it. 😛 You can't really find a set that good now days though, the new ones sound so tinny and the plastic is so thin it vibrates when certain sound notes hit.

No smokers home yellowing. LOL. The sound was always crap. Always hated them. Spent $250 in (maybe) 2002?

I mean, it is what it is. I felt like I overpaid for them. They "looked" sexy. But my Yamaha 2.0 set that I gave away sounded better.

I guess it was probably not a good set in general. I have a set of Altec Lansings from the early 2000's with that similar plastic style and they're actually really good. Nothing in that range compares to them today unless you go with pro audio stuff. They have the "smoker's home" yellowing a little too. (no actual smoking, it's just that 90's and early 2000's stuff did that. 😛 )

I am pretty sure I have said this before, I grew up in an electronic retailer/mid tier distributor home. So I played with all this stuff. We had a freight elevator in our building.

It's plastic and they age. I hated them almost as soon as I took them out of the box. I was like, "This is supposed to be an upgrade. They're supposed to sound like $250 worth. That's $361.97 in today's dollars (U.S.). I could not wait to replace them. When my wife needed something she usually got the hand-me-downs. When I set her up with her own pc, I pulled those speakers out of a box. It beat having to buy new ones. I always had the good stuff. Those were not it.

As many of you know, I have lost most of my sense of smell to COVID-19. They say this is normal. Well, normal for those of us with mild cases. 86% of those with mild cases had this condition, as opposed to 4-7% with those with moderate to severe cases. The average time for smell sense recovery is 21.6 days. A quarter of those who lose their sense of smell don't recover within 6 months. Yikes! I hope I'm in the three week group.

Oh wow, that must be so weird, did not realize it could last that long. Are you feeling ok other than that though?

Pretty much. I cough occasionally. Pretty dry. Nothing unusual. I have year round allergies. The fatigue is going away. I've been getting more sleep than I was. Wanted to make sure I was over this. I could go back to work today. I'm shooting for Monday just to be sure. If things change, I can still stay home. I've had the short-term disability approved.

Tried out my new litter scoop this morning. The thing is HUGE! Well, huge compared to my plastic one that I am replacing it with. I need to make somewhere to hang it now. It's too heavy for the hook magnet that I have been using for the last ten years.

I am giddy over the GME fracas

I just don't care. The stock market is legalized gambling anyways. It makes our world worse, not better. Why they trade shorts and longs in the first place? It should be illegal. I suppose that makes me a commie. LOL. The whole crooked thing needs more regulation.
