Maybe I should look up some schematic for proper usb-ps/2 conversion.

I love old clicky clacky keyboards too. Newer ones don't feel right. I have an older MS ergo keyboard, it's not as old as those IBM ones but even stuff from that keyboard's era is harder to find now. Problem is like 99% of them are wireless now, so once you filter though all those you're left with little to no choice as far as wired ones go.

Someone posted a dirty keyboard in a tech support horror post on Reddit and I realized mine is worse than that. I probably should change it at some point. :p

used to work for a guy that smoked at the keyboard. every few month he'll put in a support call to replace his vt terminal keyboard. It stopped working because of his smoking. But because they had support contract, every few month he will get his keyboard replaced. I imagine they just total that keyboard since it is filled with carcinogens.

This thing needs a new battery. Found single packs that are similar but not exact. Same maker, same voltage, slightly lower capacity. $15 each.

What is that thing?
microcenter TW100 tablet. not really worth refurbing except i have the pogo pin keyboard that was made just for it - way better than generic bluetooth garbage. to get anything similar now i'd need a surface go with the typecover.

I went to the swap meet yesterday. The swap meet looks like a refugee camp after a dust storm. One vendor was selling grilled beef ribs. Best beef ribs I've ever eaten.

Another offgrid property just popped up and it's closer to where I live. 45 minutes from town. Not year round accessible though, but it does look like it's a drive in property, it's just not plowed. Not a biggie, once I got to a point where I want to live there year round I would most likely have a way to plow it. It also has a creek and it's over 100 acres. Definitely worth going to check out in spring if it's still for sale. 10k cheaper than the other one that's an hour and a half away.

Still too far to live there while still working my job here but it's close enough that it would not be a big deal to go to even when I only have like 2 days off. The first goal is only to have a place to go camping anyway, the idea of living there permanently is more of a 10+ year plan, if further, like retirement. Of course if I can figure out a passive income I can expedite that.

It's also close enough that I could probably do a point to point internet link to my house if I build a tall enough tower at the property and put a little ham tower at my house. An excuse to play with some of the long distance UBNT gear. :D

Or just wait till my company decommissions more RD6 radios lol.

made bbq duck soup with rice vermicelli.

I did not make the duck, I bought it at the Cantonese BBQ shop.

I wanted to code some stuff today. Lot of loose ends on some base class/functions that I want to finish so I can use it in other projects. Got lazy and hardly touched the code. Not sure why I have a hard time getting the motivation to code these days. In my mind I see something and really want to do it, but when it comes time to actually start writing code I just can't get into it. Maybe I need some totally new projects or to pickup a new language, or maybe coding is just not my thing anymore. If I see it as a chore then no sense in forcing it I guess.

Some other days I can really get into the groove though and feel more concentrated. I think it's just a hit and miss thing.

Tomorrow I will go check out an off grid property just to clear my mind, I actually wanted to do that today but then decided I should just work on the code instead... which I never did lol.

As a side note. Wine nef.
