That was an interesting adventure. That gravel road is WAY longer than I thought. Good hour or so. It got narrower and rougher as I got further, BUT it was in generally good condition. I don't know if that's plowed in winter though, it would be unfeasible for me to plow it myself if I did want to live there year round.

My phone was running out of battery and I forgot the cable so once I got to a spot where I felt unsafe going with the car I decided to back out to a spot I can turn around since there would be no other spot to turn around after that road. Did not end up getting right to the property but was close enough to get a feel for the area. I think it's more grown in compared to what google's satellite image shows, which is a good thing in one sense, but in the other also means more work. Met two guys who bought a couple properties in the area and were trying to find them, so it might even be they bought the one I was looking at, anyway. If I do end up going back I'll make sure to get my drone license and then actually bring my drone. I was tempted to bring it and fly with no license but that's kind of risky. The fine is 5k.

Was a fun drive though. Something to do. :p

All this time though I also forgot I had stuff in my trunk to bring to the dump. So I hauled that all over the place for nothing lmao. And tomorrow is Saturday then I work nights starting Sunday. Doh. I think the dump is open on Saturday but it's probably going to be busy as hell. It's spring cleanup time so there's no tipping fees. I might go anyway since I don't know how long I have before they start charging.

Islam extremists seem to be going around hacking FB accounts. Two of my family members got hacked so far. It's kinda bizzare, I don't know what they are trying to do. Like why don't they just make their own accounts. They just hack accounts, and then use them as their own. Weirdest thing.

Delete your Facebook account. That'll teach the heretics.

Unless you are doing something with drones you shouldn't do, why would you worry about the authorities? The big deal here is to stay away from the airport.

Is Canada that much of a police state? Papers! We must see your papers!

we heavily regulate redheads. On account of them being soulless.

It's getting bad here tbh. You need a license to fly a drone and the drone has to be registered now. It's ridiculous. Governments now days are all about knee jerk reaction and like to create new laws for stupid crap, instead of just using common sense.

I should probably get on that though as I'm technically illegal now with an unregistered drone in my house.

What I mean, if you use the drone legally, do you expect a visit from the authorities to see if you have a license? Sorta like driving down the road and having to show your ID? On my last road trip, I had to pass through three immigration checkpoints. Border Patrol: Are you an American? Me: Nein!

Since the law is new I'm sure they will. Using a drone is not like driving, there's so many cars on the road police won't bother doing random checks to make sure everyone has a license. But some lone guy in a park with a drone? Hell yeah, that's a potential 5k revenue for the city and a rather easy target as there are decent odds they didn't hear about the new law. Lot of people go out and buy these and don't even realize there's ANY laws. They just figure as long as they use common sense and are safe they should be ok.

Chances are I'd be fine in middle of nowhere, but still rather not chance it.

Had this weird dream. I don't remember all of it, but basically I was on a bus, traveling out of town. Like one of those coach buses. We were slowly passing through what looked like an underground parking lot and there was another bus, it was the Holmes on Homes crew heading somewhere for an episode. I guess in the dream I knew them well, since I waved at them from my bus and they all waved back.

At some point I got to my transfer destination to get on a plane to finish the last leg of the trip. I think it was in Toronto. The flight got delayed (typical. lol) and I had to wait like 8 hours. At one point I panicked because I realized I didn't have my bag on me and then was wondering if it just got loaded somewhere for me and will be loaded on the plane, but I was too worried so I asked someone, and then it turns out I was actually carrying it. lol. I don't really recall anything after that.

The weird part is today when I ate lunch I turned on the TV and it was a Holmes episode. Like what are the odds. I don't really watch that show much since I got rid of cable. I got one channel that is usually news, but it sometimes plays other random stuff too and that just happened to be playing.

So the bastards at Transport Canada raised the drone test cost to 10 bucks instead of 5 now. Guess that's what I get for waiting last minute. They probably did on purpose to penalize those who did not do it before.

I'm going to just wing it and see where it gets me. 35 questions in an hour and a half... I think I can do it.

Some of these questions are retarded.

Indicate a known antidote to counter a pilot's overconfidence in technology and automation

WTF is that even suppose to mean?

It would be ridiculous to get it on first final

I really don't care. I'm rooting for Toronto because I believe that Durant to a championship team is terrible for the NBA. I was born in the Bay Area, but don't root for the Warriors.

I passed!

That was painful, but not THAT bad. Lot of the questions used common sense, or were about the rules so I could look them up. But lot of them were just whacked out so out there that they were not easily searchable. The thing that annoys lot of people is that they don't actually give you actual study material. They give you general guidelines on the type of material that is on the test but they don't actually give you the material. Lot of it has to do with flying real aircraft and lot of that info you'd probably learn at a flight school.

TBH I think my saving grace is that I had a decent amount of questions that were common sense. If it was all specific knowledge questions I would have bombed it. Kind of hard to study something when no material is really provided even if it's open book.

Went to visit my parents for a bit and had a camp fire but my dad was in a bad mood. (he got a new phone and having trouble getting all his contacts etc on new one) so my mom left early and I didn't really want to be with him in that state so came back home. Picked up a timmy's on the way. May as well stay up late tonight, I work night shift tomorrow.

Now to do the registration, and then I'll be all set to fly.
