Tweaked my backup scripts a bit, the emails it sends when it's done actually has basic info in it. Always keep an eye to make sure the drives don't fill then it means I have to tweak the backup job to spread it on more drives. I need to start buying more larger drives though, it's kind of a pain splitting it on smaller drives. I've thought of doing backup tapes and finding a way to just span across multiple tapes but everything I read seems to indicate they are a pita to deal with. Dirty heads etc.

I basically just use hard drives as tapes.

I have come across a spent bullet or two, in times past. One .22 cal lodged in the lid of my outdoor trashcan. Another larger caliber, .38(?) plummeted entirely through the roof and was found laying in a stairwell. Have to wonder if local roofers take to firing into the air now and then.

Oh wow never considered the kind of damage it would do to roofs. Apparently it's not that dangerous to people as the terminal velocity is rather low but I guess it still hits hard enough to do damage.

On similar subject I wish fireworks were legal here, it would be fun as hell to set them off on new years and stuff. At very least they should make them legal for specific holidays.
