The fall colors are surprisingly good in localized areas. I was expecting a complete dud this year, but there's been some real gems. The maples look especially good this year, and the cherries are pretty nice. No huge patches of colorful woods this year though.

Coffee nef.

Had mac and cheese for lunch. :p

Was nice to be able to sleep in this morning after working all week. Back at it next week again. Don't get much time off lately.

It's getting to point I can't doublecut the tree to remove rounds. Have to cut from two sides then rip it to remove pieces...

Was cleaning my saw out. Did I hit a pocket of squirrel poop?

I have one about that size, but it's mixed in with utility lines. I meant to get it last year, but didn't get to it. I'm a little uncertain how to approach it. Thinking about making a pole saw to take it off near the wires, then I can get the rest of the branch. That way there'll be less chance of doing something bad to the wires. I puzzle over it a bit, think "I'll get it later", and here I am... I need to do something cause the branch is split, and I don't want disease setting in.

edit:
Just went out and looked at it again. I'm thinking it'll make a good first attempt at limb walking. I can use my ropes and saddle to get out on the limb, cut it closer to the wires, then take the rest of the limb down. That'll be after I get my evergreen down. That's gonna happen tomorrow. I need to get my other redwood in the ground, and that tree has to go first.

I've been taking it slow. I went up with spurs the first time a few weeks ago, and removed limbs with my handsaw. Last week I went up with a chainsaw, and got about 66% to where I need to be. I'll finish tomorrow. Remove the rest of the limbs, then block it down til I can fell it from the bottom without hitting anything. Climbing really kicks my ass. Once I get set to do some cutting, the spurs bury in the trunk, and it's hard to get them unstuck. Add in it all being new to me, it's a lot of things to keep track of at once with a big dollop of stress. Fun though. I have a ~60' spruce that isn't looking good. I don't want to remove it, but it may come to that. The neighbor's shed is ~10' away. That'll add in an extra challenge bringing it down. I'd be looking forward to it if it didn't mean losing a tree.

Selenium is where it's at.
Killed that chronic inflammation that's bugged me for years in 30 minutes or less. Drastic change. Probably was due to depleted thyroid hormones from excess cortisol due to lack of sleep. The inflammation only dies down the days after I sleep, typically.
Pretty impressive, huh? I bet you're pretty impressed.
