Maybe I missed it, but why do you need a dedicated DC line?
It just makes the LED lights flicker less visibly as it flips the negative side of the AC wave to positive. They also look brighter.
The lights work without it, but it just makes it better. Eventually I want to make a 120VDC power supply so it's straight DC and not pulsed. If I just add a capacitor to the existing setup then it ends up being 170VDC which may overdrive the LEDs.
It's on a concrete mantle over a stone hearth. Unless it does something else miraculous like explode, it should be ok. I left it running cause it's scented(pumpkin pie). I figured even if I can't see the light, it'll still be doing something. When you get to a certain point, candles are hard to relight, and don't burn well, but I guess it had more time than I thought.I hope you have it in the middle of a water moat.
